I know several people have listed threads about what they should do with there V6 but i have some questions as well. I have a 1999 Laser Red V6 coupe with a 5-speed. Ive got a Cobra R front bumper, Mach 1 grille delete, GT hood and side scoops, GT rear bumper, Bullitt fuel door, smoked headlights with clear corners, smoked tailights, limo tint, black lettering, and 18x9 chrome fr500s in the front and 18x10 chrome fr500s in the rear. As far as the engine goes it has a BBK CAI, Diablosport Predator chip, Brembo cross drilled and slotted rotors, Flowmaster catback, and I also cut out 2 cats. Just recently i rebuilt the transmission and now i have to rebuild the rear end. I just bought 4.10 gears for it and i will be installing those shortly. I have really been considering getting a GT and starting from there. Plus i will never get the sound from my car that i would get from a GT. Should i save up and get a GT or just go with what i got and make my V6 faster? I have had several people tell me to put an ATI intercooled procharger on mine. But i still want other people's opinions. Also keep in mind that i am only 18 and money isnt quite available like i wish it was.

I have a friend of the family that is selling his 1996 GT Convertible. Its white with tan leather, tan top, but its an automatic. it has 119000 miles on it though, but it has a new transmission, new top, new rear brakes, and only needs new front brakes. The guy is trading it in on a 2006 GT and was just going to trade it in but would only get 3400 for it. I have the opportunity to buy the car for that amount and then put the money i would get back from mine into the GT but im not really sure what to do. i want a manual but i wouldnt mind an automatic because i have a Predator tuner that might make it a little more interesting to drive. i also just ordered gears for my V6 but i can send them back and get 3.90 for the GT. Should i stay with the newer body style or just go for it? What should i do?

Ewww tomany miles..remember it is a ford =/, and the 95-98 put like 160hp at the wheels I believe..your better off with your v6 stang you have now. Look around on autotrader for a 99+ GT probally could get 1 with 75k miles for 5grand..not to mention the 96 is a vert and automatic!

That 96 would be a dissapointing GT. I would keep the V6 rather than buy that 96. Non PI,Convertable,Automatic,and 119K miles. I could probably beat it with my dads Chevy Tahoe.

Well comin from a fellow V6'er before you blow your car i'd look at teh super six packages, they guarrentee 90 hp with only 2200 dollars worth of stuff...and then from there it's just like a GT maybe 30 hp difference but with a blower and pullies and all the other stuff you would add...'
At the same time insurance for an 18 yr old with a GT and then doin the mods ur thinkin of...might as well write out the check for 5 grand a year in insurance alone... As for asthetics, it looks like you've spent a great deal already, then you'd have to find a 99+ GT Lazer Red, at a good price, plus all the time installing everythin from the V6 to the GT, it'll take longer then you think... There are already a large amount of nice goodies for the V6's that say with 3k in the engine you could def. beat a stock GT, if not some lightly modded ones...the V8 guyz will hate me for saying this, but there are a couple V6's out there that will walk away from some GT's...

Grimzz i saw something about Super Sixes package for around 2200.... Where could i find one or if u made it up wat all does it include

I really appreciate the advice. I decided to get a loan and i will buy a 99 GT and modify that. As much as i want to keep my car i just want that V8 sound and performance. Just curious though, what was the super six package that you were talkin about Grimmz?

There are more than a few v6's that i am freinds with that will walk away from most gt's and z28's on the street.
My freinds auto sprayed v6 for example. mid 13's with something like $1k in the car.

I think it is silly to dump money into a V-6 when you can just get a GT. Probalem with that logic is all us dopes with modded GT's are just as guilty.
You just have to be honest with yourself. Most of us try to buy a car we can afford and then start modding it a little here and there. Then, we look back back and say "holy crap" I dumped a lot of money. I paid $15k for my GT Vert a few years back and have since probably dumped $5k in the car between visual and performance mods. That extra money might have gotten me into a snake coupe but not a vert, but just give more time to mod and I will spend even more money. But you know what? I was at a car show this weekend. A very nice old man in a beautiful 1933 Ford Truck was really interested in my car. Hhe thought my Mustang was worth $60K. If you think about it, to the untrained stang person, while they can quickly identify a stock GT when they see a nicely moddified car, they can't quite pin it down. It could be a Ferrari for all they know. So I say, if you mod, make the car the way you want it. Don't look back and just enjoy your ride, because it is YOUR ride. Not some thing Ford made like everyone elses.
