My insurance is $56. GT would have cost $84.

At 28 mpg. total cost at $2.00/gal (which has been the average here the past year) = $7142

at 24mpg $8333.

Savings of $1191

Insurance = 336 dollars/year* 7 years (average length of time cars are kept). $2352.

I already have 70,000 miles on my car (2003) so In the 1st year, I saved nearly $500 in gasoline costs, which I reinvested in CAI and UDP's. Since then I've saved $3333 -2285= $1048 in gas over a GT, for a total of $1548, add the insurance savings which is $420, and I've saved $1968.

Do the math.

That's not even considering that I only paid $13,000 for the car, the interest on the (minimum) $6000 over 5 years, and the $6000 I saved to begin with.

So the total savings (not including interest) is $7968.

O_O jesus, wlecome back indeed lol

I've gotten down to 14mpg before. Perhaps if I stopped driving it like an s7... :p Anyways, I'd like to get my car somewhere close to 300. What is the best way to get a 3.8 up to that level?

i agree with steed i think you guys got a little off the topic of v6 tunning as for the GT i would love to have a v8 but thats not what i have right know i have a v6 and i want to know how to get some hp from that puppy. i hear that you can get the superchargers off of the thunderchickens is that true???? becuase if it can be done i know where one is.

the easest way to get there is with a power adder nitrous, supercharger,or turbo. or you can go the naturally aspirated way and get a cam, port and polished intakes (upper and lower), heads, bigger maf, bigger tb,1.8rr's

Check your tire pressure, that's the biggest culprit. I run max indicated psi off the sidewalls, stock that's 44psi. On my Dunlop SP5000s, it's 51psi.

Next get underdriver pulleys, and check your air cleaner. The air filter is the next biggest culprit when it comes to mileage. It should be checked every 3,000 miles at a minimum, and cleaned every 6,000 miles.

Next, try not to use your brakes very often, keep your windows rolled up on the highway.

yeah, you can run it on the 03+ 3.8L and 3.9L. I'd get a stud girdle from Morana 1st, though.

Pre-03 blocks aren't built for a twin screw type boost. All of 'em will last longer with a centrifugal SC, and will get better mileage.
