Throttle Bodys

I have a 2000 v6. My stock throttle body sticks a bit so I want to replace it with an OEM used unit. Ford told me there is a different part number for 99-00 vs. 01-04. Wondering if anyone knows if the two are interchangeable as I found a used 01 unit for sale.

Thanks!

you dont need to replace it. they sell a cleaner called "throttle body cleaner" almost any parts store will havw it it will clean the oil and gunk off of it then you will be good to go. no need to spend more than 5 dollars.

thnx spike, ill feel stupid if that fixes the problem! should this be done while the car is running or should the throttle body be removed from the car first?

just take off the air intake then spray the TB down and move the butterfly a bit till it losen ups. then re install intake and start car. it might run weird at first it will clean up once the cleaner is burned out.

also when u start it be sure to have the throttle open otherwise it can backfire up through the intake. and old toothbrush and a can of b-12 does the trick everytime.

its not gonna backfire. this stuff i dont belive is even flamable. just spray it in there it will eat it away and then reinstall everything and run it to get the gunk out and your good ot go. simple and easy.
