Default Help me spend my grand?

Hello everyone. Haven't posted here recently. I've decided to go ahead an do upgrades on my stang. I was reluctant at first because its a "V6" and I plan on selling it sometime this year. But.. after being beaten by a Chevrolet Caprice I've decided to go ahead and drop a grand into the car. That's right $1000 USD, no more no less. I need to do the mods that will make a huge difference while being on the 1000 dollar budget. My stang is bone stock besides appearance mods. I have comprised a list of what I think will give me the biggest bang for my buck. Help me take away, add, edit, my list to make it the best way to mod it.

My list-
Flowmaster Delta Flow 40 Series Offset Muffler x 2 = $150
Mustang V6 Cold Air Intake Kit = $75
Pair of Plug-In Mustang MIL Eliminators (Knock out two catalytic converters) = $70
Limited Slip Differential with 4.10 Gears = $379
SCT Hand Held Tuner= $380

Total= $1054

I don't have a LSD right now and I hear its crucial. The only problem is I don't have access to anyone who knows how to actually install the differential and gears. I've been looking around for an axle intact and may have found one on craiglist, 8.8 stock GT axle for $50. Would this work?

Anyway regarding my list does this sound good or should I go a different path?

you still might not beat that caprice. Spray it for less and beat even faster cars.

A caprice is a mid to high 16 second car stock so if you lost to him in your 2002 3.8 he was probably modded cause you should be running high 15's.

A tune, lsd and gears are the only thing that are going to make you any faster in your list but I wouldn't expect that much you would still be in the low 15s

if you get an 8.8 rear for a good price and put that in and add nitrous you could easily get into the 14's

if you want the bang for your buck go

8.8 with whatever gear you can get in it (3.27 is easy to find but you might find 3.73) and you can probably do it for around $200

then get nitrous for about $600 (you can do it cheaper)

then go to an exhaust shop and have them build you a true duel set up for around 200

If you are going to sell the car sometime this year, then why waste $1K on it right now? I don't see the point in wasting money just cause you got beat by a crappy car. Save the money and use it on the next car.

I dont think he intends on selling it anymore, i think. And correct me if im wrong but couldnt the tuner make there no need for MIL eliminators? And yeah id probly recomend what they say, 8.8 rear, with 3.73s or 4.10, plus tuner and spray. Maybe a shift kit/j mod.

Spend your money on mods that make a real difference. I'd focus on the rear end gearing, throw in a posi, tune it, and spray it.

4.10 with T, tuner, and nos later.

As far as exhaust, dont worry about going dual till you actually need to go dual.

I believe the axles are shorter in the foxes than the late model new edges, somone correct me if I'm wrong.

My suggestion, don't waste your money. If you're going to sell it then there is no point. Save your money and put it into your new car when you get it. JM2C

fixed.

Anyway. I'd just make the car look good. If i did all that **** to my car only to run 14's i'd be pretty unsatisfied.

If you buy nitrous you can take it off and put it on your next car. It's a mod that can stay with you no matter what you buy.
