Default Traded in the 98 GT For 2011 3.7

Traded off the 98 gt for a 2011 3.7.
After a long day I have a new Silver V6 3.7 Duretec DOHC...
I gotta say, that thing is peppy!
I had a good handful or two of mods on my 98 gt and this v6 is right there..
my 98 gt faced off a 2005 + 4.6.. pretty much ate him up until about 50-55 mph then I fell behind.. But iv seen this vs the 2010 GT and I gotta say it was pretty close..

Anyways...ripped off as much of the bolt ons I could that I still had stock replacements..
Selling off strut tower bar, mach1 chin spoiler,75mm plenum and TB,diablo tuner and a couple other misc pieces on craiglist omaha.

If any of you guys are hesitating these cars, don't!
I was driving on what seemed to be a flat highway and was achieving 44.5 mpg but averaged about 38 mostly, until I began city driving...

kuto's ford!!!

Your '11 is probably light years faster than your 98 GT.

A light year is a distance, not a speed.

Okay then, if they raced to Naboo from Tatooine, the '11 would get there faster.

So whatever happened to that twin turbo ecoboost engine that was supposed to be going in the '11 6ers? Maybe Im losing too many brain cells from my alcoholism, but....I swear I kept reading about it in magazine articles, and internet gossip...

Ford prob never produced it cause it would outrun GT's.

ahh sorry been working like crazy to be ready to pay the taxes on this thing.. ..
This is slower 0 - 50 then my 98GT... but it has 2:73's... it begins to pull hard around 3700 rpm and drops off at about 6500 or 6800...
Just hit 500 miles with it...but plan on taking it to 1/8 mile next weekend..bone stock...was hoping to build a CAI but its definatly more complicated then any intake iv seen...almost like you would have to cut the **** out the black tubing to get the MAF and other stuff out...
Guess these CAI'S when they do come out will be $$$

Nice, you are now our second 2011 owner and have a bonafide badass V6.

Do yourself a favor, get some 3.73s, rape some GTs.

Do us proud.

What rear ends do these have? 8.8's?

I'd love to see some magnaflow side exhaust on this thing..
Seen 05-09 stangs with these sides...wondering if this 11 will use those side skirts?

If you notice there is an nice chamber in the x-pipe....

99.99% sure it's the same 8.8 rear end as the new GT. Has a 3-link rear end with a panhard bar.

If you ain't sure, get under and look!

Different skirts. And I doubt you seeing a side-exhaust for a while.

Cervinis was the only one to produce a real side exhaust system for the S197 and it took two years after the car being produced to design it. And that was just for a GT, the V6 side exhaust for S197s JUST came out.

I say cut out the rear mufflers, weld in some Borla Stingers, then buy Lethal's X-pipe tuner combo once it gets released here in a week or so.

The V6's are cool. I love the car. But, where you're going to see lacking is in mods. It's much more beneficial for a company to design something for the 5.0 than your V6.

Ahh it will still be worth it.. Have had the car for a couple of weeks.. Car tax in another 2.5 weeks.. After that Vacation in Branson MI !
Then start ordering parts..
1:Programmer
2:Exhaust
3:Gears
Probably not really all at once

Well you'll need the tuner anyways so I always say do it first. Then you're prepared for gears and a CAI if you buy it later.

The new v6's rock. They will haul with some basic mods. I can't see upgrading the exhaust doing all that much since it already has duals. I would get a intake/tune on it asap. That should unleash some good power. Though I know they only just got some good tunes just now coming out for the GT's. I have not heard anything about the v6 cars. Which I almost find more interesting.

I think mostly because you have a new MAF as well as the CAI...if you look at the first picture under intake i posted...all that stuff is inside that black tubing!!! What a nightmare ..
I was going to tube something together with a K & N from Advance Auto Parts..but with out a NEW MAF deal..it can't be done..

Exhaust....mostly to give it a nicer sound..I can't wait for long tube headers...there is ALLOT of space in the engine bay area which is very nice..
