hey guys im a new mustang owner, pick up my 2003 on sunday. ive been looking at multiple things for my stang but i would like to know what you think is the best sounding exhaust for the V6. i dont have a ton of cash but im willing to spend around 500$. also what are some good looking rims? i like the look of the black and silver. thanks for all your help

But spend 100 dollars and have a muffler shop put you a flowmaster 40 in place of your stock exhaust, cause any other way, like removing cats, or adding duals, i think makes it sound worse.

Unless you want to go longtubes, with an h Pipe maybe. And thats more than 500 dollars.

As far as wheels go it depends on the color of your car, and how it looks to really pick a set out. When you get pics up we'll help ya!

Honestly id either save up, or go all out on exhaust. I havent done it yet, but my plan is MAC longtubes, O/R H pipe, and prbly mac catback, sixxers are nice with longtubes.

My exhaust setup is true dual 2.25" piping, H-pipe, and Magnaflow mufflers. I can guarantee it will be the best v6 Mustang of your year you have ever heard (without headers of course).

First get the H pipe est. $150, X pipe will be much louder and raspy, BUT will sound like a ricer at higher RPM. Then get a mild sounding GT exhaust, I chose Flowmaster 40s est. $400-450. Get mild bc I can tell u off hand if u get insainly loud ones like SLP, ur car will sound like crap. U will need 02 extenders or MIL elem. est.50 bucks. Doing it urself will save money but it will take a slight amount of skill because u need to change the hanger locations, a shop that doesnt screw u on price can do it for 100-200 bucks. hope it helps. The best exhaust sound for a v6... a v8 swap.

the exhaust won't help any significant performance on a v6. It will all just be about sound and your personal preference of what you like.

buy a 300 dollar exhaust catback and put it on yourself. no performance really gained from a dual exhaust. they just look much better and sound better. i have the mac dual exhaust with stainless steel tips and it cost me right around 300 dollars. i spent about two evenings taking the old exhaust off and putting together my new one. muffler shops arent always cheaper. depends on where u live. it was going to cost me 350 dollars to supply them two mufflers and have them run me a dual. so i just spent the 300 on a kit and was done with it.

You will spend more putting a dual exhaust setup but it will sound way better than just replacing your stock muffler with flowmaster 40s. I am buying a spintech catback for my v6 and some shorty headers, with an h-pipe. You would not be able to buy it all with 500 but it would be worth it to save up. It would though give you a performance gain also.

ok well thanks for all your ideas. i think im still going to go with a muffler shop, that way i dont have to mess with all this crap myself. i just dont have the time or resources to put on the new system. I think that overall this will sound better anyway. but thanks for all of your help anyway!

i think they are ugly. just my opinion

Dude on wheels, stick with ones that are factory styled on mustangs. Made for mustangs.

On out 99-04 new edges, theres a huge fender gap in the rear.

If you choose aftermarket wheels, most are set up for ricers and its very difficult to get the offset right without the wheels being tucked in wayyy behind the fenders.

For a good wheel selection I'd take a look at www.americanmuscle.com and go from there.

agree with krenogin, mustang wheels are the only wheels that look right on mustangs. americanmuscle.com is a great place to get them from. get you some cobra's or saleens. those are what i would get on a new edge. a lot of people like fr500 wheels

Seen them on a challenger, they're ok. Nothing special.

Ford style rims, or dont get any.
