The reduce the .... thingie...makes the engine turn slower freeing up HP soaked up by the drive system(??)
Underdrive Crank will free up 25%to 42% HP be taking the stock pulley and harmonic balancer and making is smaller (the pulley not the balancer)
same with the water pump. If you have a stereo (2000W+) you will need a overdrive alternator pulley so the alternator doesn't lose any power from the reduction.
ASP,RPMOutlet, Steeda and a few other places sell them. Cost from 160-250 depending on the % of reduction you want and the name.

do they decrease assesories performance?
like a/c ,heater, stock 460w stereo
and are they worth getting?

lcurle 08-01-2005 12:18 PM

they can decrease cooling and charging, so if you have a big stereo then you would need to get an overdrive pulley. With the 42% reduction pulleys from rpmoutlet they add about 14rwhp. They are worth getting, we installed some on a 99 V6 and you could definatley tell there was a increase in accelleration and hp.

Only complaint I have ever heard really is that the AC isnt quite as cold when the engine is idling.

would it be smart to get underdrive pullies if i have 2 12" subs n a 1200 watt amp....i dont really have the bass up too much.....but just enuf to hear it...will it be a problem?

lcurle 08-01-2005 10:24 PM

no that should be a problem.

if u got a stang, the only loudness should be from your exhaust IMO.

Which One?

Which Is the best pulley I can get?All I care is abot HP and the overall performence of the car. 99 V6

spike_africa 08-05-2005 06:59 PM

from what i have seen ASP seems to have the biggest gains. this is just form what i have seen.

lcurle 08-05-2005 11:11 PM

those commie bastards at RPMoutlet sell some "42%" UDP's, our customers car got up and boogies after that and dynoed 13 more hp. Havent had anyone with the ASP ones yet.

Do You Need A Dif Belt?

lcurle 08-10-2005 12:32 PM

yeah, the belt should come with the system let me rephrase that, you will have the option to purchase the belt when you purchase your system, I do believe theyre $20 extra if buy with the UDPs or $24 for the belt its self

cobra4123 08-10-2005 12:37 PM

bbk is the one on the way do you know the size?

lcurle 08-10-2005 12:47 PM

no I dont know the actual size, if I had to guess I would say 91" it is just slightly smaller then your stock belt. If your going to install the UDP, I would recommend having apulley puller, we didnt so we made one, worked out fine but man, pain in the ass
