Define budget, what you can do/know about cars, and what you want out of your car performance or apearance wise :)

I wish I did this first, new gears and a tuner. It'll cost you anywhere from $500-$900 normally. If that's too high, I guess a CAI (although that isn't really that much performance gain).

if you are going for performance then hands down the first thing you should buy is a handheld tuner from american muscle. they write you a tune so you can adjust the computer of the car. it is a necessary piece of equipment that you will need for future mods. american muscle will write you new tunes for life if u piece the item through them.

if you want something a little more simple, then i recommend a new short throw shifter (if u have a manual tranny). if you know how to use a ratchet u can install it yourself. it makes driving a little more fun.

Moddin' is like sex.
Once you start, you will NOT be able to stop.
It's a drug that has no cure.

I'm confused. Is modding like sex, or is modding like drugs?

Sex is better than my car. I don't care how how many things I have done to it. I will always love sex more.

Look at the windstar intake if u can gather parts from junkyard and piece it together fab what u need should be cheap and I hear it actually makes a nice difference.

... oh gawd.
i get turned on before sex obviosuly which ends up leading to it.
but then again i also get turned on with a mild boner just thinking about moddin my car.

I would say get 4.10 gears first. It will make your six feel like a cobra. You have a 7.5 diff. I would also say get the posi with the gears. That will all run for about 1000. I would say that it is one of the most benificial things you can do to your six.
