Adding New Mods 2007 V6.
 

Hey new to the forums and these are the mods im adding To my 2007 V6
Pypes dual exhaust kit

Few questions, I was told of a huge "drone" of the pypes kit and that its unbearable.. i think i would be able to get used to it but was wondering it anyone else had them already and could shed some light.

Next the Cai,
Adding this as a bolt on and was wondering if it was worth it or shoudl i spring for another $30 or so more.. is there a big difference or just buying the brand name?

and the spacer,
Is there much of a difference between that one and this one?

I grooves are different so im assuming the whistle would disappear.. but would that be all?

The only real difference with CAIs really is how big the filter is, and the brand name. If you want it for looks and performance than go for it, or whichever brand name you prefer. I know on the 99-04 models you can save around 150$s by just buying a filter and removing the silencer and get the same performance just not as cool looks. But for 05+ i doubt that will work. The rest of the stuff the other guys can handle :)

for 05+ cars, they respond very well to a new intake. As long as you combine the intake with a tuner or a new tune, you should free up a pretty decent amount of horsepower

You may end up throwing a code with swapping the intakes unless you've got a tuner...

I'd save my money and forget about the spacer... really, it won't add much,, if anything. CAI will help slightly, but not much either..

The best bang for buck remains gears/posi/tune... exhaust headers throttlebodies intakes ect still don't add a whole lot if anything on these cars.

As far as the exhaust goes, I'm really not sure about the drone.. if anything its the mufflers which can be cut out and replaced with a different type...overall, I'd still just have an exhaust shop fabricate it all..

I plan on having a shop do the duals, and as for the CAI the BBK claims they need no tune, which leads me to believe there cant be that big of a difference then.. My biggest problem is that a tuner is about as much as a new exhaust system.. Id like one but they kinda pricey. Thought about saving up and getting the CAI tuner Combo.

BBK also claims their CAI adds 20 hp. They lie lol. I have the BBK CAI on my car though and love it. It sounds great and shed a second or two off my 0-60. I'm thinking about swapping the filter for a K&N though. I doubt the TB spacer would do anything, so I've heard. Dual exhaust is a must. I just got mine done last week, but I went with Magnaflow. You will love the sound. But, to get any real power out of these mods, you'll need a tuner. I probably only have 5-10 hp more than stock, if that.

link me site you got ur duals? is it a 05-? i can only find the pypes set.. for true duals...

My buddy has a K&N intake on his 2007 V6. No issues, no codes thrown. Havent heard much on the BBK, but im sure it isnt much different from the K&N.

I am pretty sure that the TB spacer is useless. Save your money, it adds virtually nothing. It might add some fitment issues if anything.

And for the exhaust, do some SERIOUS research. Go on youtube and stuff, find an exhaust on a 2005-2010 V6 that you like the sound of. You will be kicking yourself if you dont like the sound of an exhaust you just devoted so much time, effort and money installing on your car.

true, but the videos never to the sound justice.. lol but so far i like the pypes sound. Im just tryin to find someone else who has them.. only couple days left of sale

I didn't get mine from a site, I went to a shop. They did all the work.

Seriously kick the TB Spacer. Get the CAI though, it'll help later on with mods.

I'd save for the tuner next. It'll help not only with HP/TQ gains, but also the response of throttle and gas mileage. Remember dyno-numbers aren't the only thing you need to worry about.

The intakes that don't need a tune just aren't going to make the power of the ones that do need one. And you will not see 20hp with a CAI and no tune. However a CAI/Tuner combo like the one found at www.vmptuning.com does show super impressive gains.

Then later on get a 75 shot and eat-up some GTs.

CAI and Tune from VMP! you wont regret it. I love mine. Also I got JBA Duals with a H-Pipe and i love the sound. not to loud but gives it a great sound. I can post up the sound link later.

I got the C&L SCT 3 Combo From them. Justin Was real cool and answered all the questioned i asked before i got it.

yeah, i want the SCT 3, but as far as The CAI, i would like one with chrome finish.. but i also read that plastic works better for it is not a conductor of heat.. hrmm

Keep in mind chrome can also get colder than plastic. Also, a CAI doesn't really take in 'cold air', so it doesn't really matter.

i know but i was reading on another site that chorm can heat up sending hot air into ur engine.. i know its not "cold" simply colder than ur engine to stabilize the temp. but i never even thought about it getting colder... dam thats a good point too..

That is my car lol! thats my set up. It was about 600 total. It was on back order so i got a little bit off after the fact and so i got my shipping returned so really i paid 550 for it. I put it on myself so i paid not install price. it was not to bad to do yourself the instructions that come with it are really good.

yeah but i also heard that my year (07) has some F***ed up problems with exhaust and needing extra hangers... i may just go with pypes for cost.. hoping this October or November they get even cheaper.. did u add gt bumper? im trying to keep mine looking like stock v6 other than the extra muffler of course lol

Hangers come with the kit i got. Yeah i did the GT bumper simply for the fact i did not like the look of the cut out on V6 bumpers. I would rather have the GT. The v6 cut out does not look bad when done right i just did not want to even try. Plus i sold my v6 bumper for $100 and only paid $300 painted for the GT bumper. Thats probably the only bumper i will change. I will leave the front alone but might add a chin spoiler.

OK now im def getting the pypes, just got something in mail today thats allowing me to get it for 399.00!

look up the pypes sound on youtube. Just make sure you like the sound. If you do then go for it. You just need to make sure you will like it cause thats what matters most.
