Not paying 450 Euro($653)

I bought the Ford Racing LSD 7.5 and 4.10 gears, along with the bearing kit.

I'm quite comfortable with a wrench, and with a basic set of black and white instructions can do most tasks which are new to me.

SO...anyone know how or know where I can go to find out how to install these..

I'm stationed here in Germany, and the local "american friendly" shops are running me 450 Euro and up and two day turn around.

I can do the work on base with the tools in the shop for 6 an hour. So I just need the know-how.

Unfortunatley I don't have a spare $650, or time to be without a vehicle during the work week.
I can spend all day saturday or sunday and do the job myself.

As always any and all help are appreciated.

I couldn't find you a link to a video, but follow the instructions and you should be fine. It's just bolted on I believe

haha, "american friendly" seems to be "think americans are stupid and overcharge"

knowing that you are stationed in Germany, you are probably a tanker, and have yet to see the light of day from the field... kinda like me from Fort Irwin, california.

try to get to taylor barracks this is if you live around mannheim...there is a guy there that can help you with the install. he has the exprience and tools.

the cost is a little bit higher because of the high cost of haz waste the germans have to pay...the 450 euro is with 19% VAT (value added tax) since we are military we can take a VAT form with us and have that 19% waived. then the cost will be around typical shops in the states. the dollar sucks thats why Euro prices seem really expensive.

armyboy i suggest you post this on mightymustangs.net...that is the local site for all american owned mustangs in germany.

I'm here in K-town, so it won't be that far to go to Taylor. My buddy and I both have mustangs, and he says he knows, but I just want the info just to be safe ya know? Doin it next weekend probably.. not looking forward to the 500 mile break in though. lol.
Hey, do you know of any way to get Frieght items(Axles/hoods/side skirts) shipped here?

stanger00 08-25-2009 11:25 PM

i just left K-town...my mustang shipped back here on july 10th and i left on the 17th.

a lot of people use gefracing.com. that guy there hooks us up with shipping large items. the other way is to use BAX global...but the seller has to be able to use them.

axles are not freight items and neither are side skirts. hood is pointless to have shipped out there...it will cost too much to ship and zie germans will charge you way too much for paint. well, since you bought a 7.5 LSD than this could only mean you want an 8.8 rear axle. i suggest waiting till you come back to the states or wait for a better mustang to pop up for sale out there. i looked at ramsteinyardsales everyday for cheap parts. i bought 26" ET drags nearly new mounted on 15X8 weld pro stars for only 200 bucks!

If you ever seen a sliver mustang with roush stage 3 front bumper and cobra R hood, than that was me.

if you use the hobby shop use the one on ramstein...i cant stand the pulaski shop. i was left with no choice when i blew my intake. i had to bring my own tools when i did all of the work...i also had to "borrow" a torque wrench from my shop!

Nice.

Only issue with waiting for the states is..well, 3 year dependant tour..
2011 is a long way away from now.

I would love to at least get my 8.8 before I head back.
Then when I get stateside I can either Supercharge or get the crate with the Cola I'm saving. lol
