Trak-Lok v6 automatic

Adding http://www.americanmuscle.com/ford-28spline-75-lsd.html to my 6 and was wondering if i should use 3.73 or 4.10 gears. What all do i need to successfully complete an installation of all this? will my 6 be faster since all the HP will be going to ALL of the rear? Thanks

Gear ratio depends on you really. If you want to accelerate faster then get the 4.10's. If you are super worried about gas mileage get the 3.73's. If your car is an auto Get 4.10's regardless. We have a gear sticky in the general tech section, check it out for alot of good info.

And with the gears and the T-lok getting power to both wheels the car will accelerate much quicker.

Also, if you're thinking of going any sort of forced induction in the future, you might want to look at getting an 8.8" rear end before spending money on gears.

Hmm

Well, I am thinking about it, but its not like i can just pull out 5G's for a supercharger at the moment. If i had 4.10s on a 7.5 and got my stang Supercharged would i have to get the 8.8?

You don't have to, but if you run drag radials or make decent power I would be worried about breaking it.

Thanks a bunch. Now to just find what all i need to get some new 4.10's and Differential, power up my Stang a bit more. =)

You just need the gears,T-lok, and install kit, and fluid thats it.

RhcpKirchner 07-12-2009 06:45 PM

hmm

Where could i find the "install" kit?

SnTBakosFinest 07-12-2009 06:49 PM

"master bearing kit" should be on AM

jon2325 07-12-2009 09:39 PM

damn, this reminds me.. i need to get mine installed

garrett01001 07-13-2009 07:54 AM

this is what I'm getting after my next income tax return (when I can afford it)

http://www.fordracingparts.com/parts...KeyField=10353

It's just another bolt on that way and if you really want the 4.10's you can get them later, but try out the 3.73's first

spike_africa 07-13-2009 11:45 AM

There is no reason to spend the money on an 8.8" rear end when you don't need it.

jon2325 07-13-2009 12:17 PM

yea, a grand is alot to drop in a rear-end... just run your s/c or whatever u plan on running until you the rear blows.. and u have an auto anyway so as long as u stay away from shift kits u shouldn't have 'too' much of a problem.

side note: dont be a pussy, get the 4.10s!!!

RhcpKirchner 07-14-2009 09:17 PM

hmm

Cant seem to find the "Master Bearing Kit" on AM anyone care to link. Sorry for being such a n00b.

spike_africa 07-15-2009 06:24 AM

They don't sell the basic install kits anymore just this more expensive one.

If you want the cheaper just basic install kit, search Google for it.

I'm taking it I need the bearing kit?
I bought the 75-140 lube at the AAFES car store, but will i need the whole kit too?

jon2325 08-23-2009 09:23 PM
