header help!
ok so I am looking to add long tube headers and a cattless mid pipe to my 03 mustang AUTOMATIC. ( links below) will i be able to do this? im taking it to midakie(spelling) because i know they do custom exhaust work. I herd you have to bend long tube headers around an automatics transmision or somthing like that.and also for the headers, it says EGR FITTING ONLY. whats that? I have a cat back magnaflow exhaust already on, basically I want to know is this possible without spending a shit load of money or is it possible at all? thanks ! oh p.s if you know any cheaper sights to get these parts please let me know.

Ditch the Y and go for true dual. Not too familiar of the fitment on the Pacesetters, but seem to be really good priced. You can have them fab up your current cat back to fit an H or X.

so long tube headers, a shorty h pipe an fab a dule from the h pipe ? any idea what the cost could be? an do u know what egr fitting is ? thx

Can't really say on the price man, will vary from shop to shop. Just call around. The egr system hooks up to the passenger side header. So the egr fitting allows the egr to bolt up.

I don't know if Pacesetter fits on a Auto car, however me and Sean know for a fact that MAC long tube headers do fit on auto cars. So its your call on what to do there.
The EGR fitting is so you can keep your cars EGR setup working. This is for emissions and also helps with getting slightly better mpg while at part throttle, the EGR is off when your at wide open throttle. If you get the Pacesetters I would also skip the Y-pipe. Have a shop other then Midas do the work,as I have seen some of their work and its terrible. Get them to make you a set of true duals back to your catback which they should be able to cut the Y out of your catback and make those into true duals. |
if your car is a v6 then save the 2000 bucks and put it somewhere it'll do some good. Headers are a POOR deal at BEST. They're a shitty shitty horrible deal normally. 20hp for 2000 bucks sucks the big donkey dik.
