Default Tuners

I dont know a whole lot about electrical mods to cars considering i grew up around pre '73 cars. Im looking for a few small mods for a v6 and a tuner seems like a general + for most ppl. What are the differences between different tuners (diablo predator/SCT xcal) and how hard are they to learn to use?
And what to people think of the steeda power packs?

I think the main thing with tuners is just the overall feel to the user that makes the difference. They all pretty much change the same things (A/F Ratio, etc..)....as for how hard they are to learn, you'll have to wait for someone else to answer that. I don't have and have never used one.

As for the powerpack, I think you could just get a cheap k&n air filter and get the same bonuses that a steeda cai will give you, then just pick up the underdrive pulley seperate (if you want) and get a gear/tuner kit from american muscle for the same or lower price than that entire steeda kit and get better gains.

all the tuners are pretty much the same thing only difference is if your planning on going to a tuner near you its a good plan to have what product they support. Some only deal with SCT etc. I would HIGHLY recommend getting a SCT tuner and tune from Justin at www.vmptuning.com with that you will get 3 custom tunes. For example 93 performance, 87 gas mileage, 87 performance... etc whatever you choose. From there its simple whenever you get it you plug it in select the tune you want to install and click select. You can also make changes on your own easily however everything that you want changed will be done if you get the custom tunes from a tuner such as Justin @ vmptuning. Hope that made some sense

As for the power pack I'd just get break it down probably. It will be a little more expensive but handheld tuners have more capabilities. I'd get a hand held tuner, a drop in K&N and remove the air silencer and if you want UDP pick some of those up
