Brake Upgrade

Have put 17" wheels on y '98 3.8 vert. Will need a brake job soon. Would like to upgrade while I'm at it. Q: Will Cobra or GT caliper brackets fit on my hubs? Q2: Will my stock front Calipers, brackets and rotors fit on the rear? This is a cruiser, not a race car. I don't need more horsepower but would like a bit more stopping power.i

I'm not completely sure, but 99-04 GT brakes may be an upgrade for your car. You can upgrade to Cobra brakes But would need the whole kit. The front brake parts will not fit on the rear. Before any of that, I would consider a better pad compound. If your using stock replacement pads, upgrade to something like Hawk HPS or Satisfied GS6. For the cobra brake upgrade look at Buyfordracing.com. research the 99-04 GT brakes, and look at for sale forums.

Are you doing the change yourself or having a shop do it? Because when i changed my brakes, the rear hydraulic cylinder was crazy hard to push down, they make a special tool to push it down, might wanna consider buying it if your gunna do it yourself.
