v6 exhaust

i got the impression that if i gotthis dual adapter kit i could get a gt exhaust kit like this am i right? if so what are the advantages of putting on a gt kit on my stock v6?

dsg_gt2004 07-13-2005 07:22 PM

you could always look into getting a used GT catback(i believe that would bolt right up)..you could probably find one for like $30-$50....if that wouldnt work, then just do as you already have planned

lcurle 07-13-2005 11:39 PM

still need the adapter for the Gt take off exhaust. Look for the pacesetter adapter for a 3.8L cost I think is $112 or somewhere around there. Then go junkyard hoping to find exhaust. If you can find any you can alway bend your own :icon_colo

TEXASPAUL 07-14-2005 02:41 PM

but why should i put a gt exhaust on my v6?

spike_africa 07-14-2005 04:08 PM

because its atrue dual and not a single to y setup. it flows better which gives more power. they sell bolt on x-pipes for v6s here as well. then a gt catback can be bolted up.

lcurle 07-14-2005 11:50 PM

yeah what he said

TEXASPAUL 08-03-2005 03:40 PM

put links to the exhausts i could buy
i want a true dual, cat back, mabey a muffler and want to spend less than 600

Lances03SVT 08-03-2005 06:58 PM

The catback already has mufflers. You could do it for under $600 for sure.

TEXASPAUL 08-04-2005 03:09 PM

pleze put links to the parts

TEXASPAUL 08-04-2005 03:29 PM

about how many hp does it add and how loud is it
also does it sound like a v8 note the like

or is it better to get this
what are the diferences and likenesses

Lances03SVT 08-04-2005 03:32 PM

the adatop just takes the stock v6 y pipe and makes it into a h-pipe. not teh best flwoing setup but alot better than a y pipe. the xpipe will add power and will NOT sound like a v8.

YOU CAN NOT MAKE A v6 SOUND LIKE A V8 NEVER.

you bought a v6 and thats what it is,some people will tell you it kinda sounds like a v8, bull**** i have freinds who are hardcore v6 guys trust em they cant sound liek a v6 ever.

Shambles 08-05-2005 08:46 PM

It might not sound exactly like a V8, but it gets a bit closer to the loudness and tone.

95bstallion 08-07-2005 10:10 PM

turbo

Cant you dump your turbo into your exhaust piping creating more air flowing through? if sooo then wouldnt a twin turbo set up help add some tone to a v6 exhaust making it sound like its kickin a extra cylinder?

spike_africa 08-08-2005 12:15 AM

no, once again its a v6 it will never sound like a v8 sorry. add a flowmaster whatever you want it ownt sound like a v8 ever.

Grimmz 08-27-2005 10:04 AM

Damn Spike wooo sahhh my friend, lol yes we understand it won't sound like a GT after 3000 rpm, but there are some v6 set ups that sound almost identical to a Gt at start up.

If you guyz wana check out the sounds for all the different set ups, register for the Mustangexhaust forum, they have a page there where you can listen to other peoples exhaust set ups. Everything from single to dual, and so on. Mustang Exhaust Just register and you will see the sound clips link. but you have to register.

honestly

honestly, my v6 is louder under normal driving than stock v8's, but damn a GT with a nice system is freakin killer, my friends mom has one, its her grocery mobile, and its all fixed up, you can hear her coming from almost a mile away it seems, the sound just is overwhelming, its absolutely amazing
