99+ cars do not have a separate intake air temp sensor. This is because its built into the maf as one unit.

Score one for Dustin. I just went out and looked at my car and it doesn't have one either. Like I said I did not do the install. The last mustang I worked on had one so I assumed wrong in thinking that mine had it too.


Dustin are you sure about the 99 + cars in the video I posted above of the guy installing the AM intake he is re-attaching one and there is a pic on a parts website I was just looking at (don't know what the year is exactly other than it is a 99+ and it too has one.

I am just curious as can be now myself because why did Ford change that.

He's right, it's built in. I had to plug up a hole in my intake because I don't have one. I think he 01's have it, but none others do. It's only one year that have a separate one

ya mine dont have one either i stuck a valve stem in it to plug it up lol

hey dude,, justa quickie, do the 3.9's have any major differences in power or sound or anything from the 3.8?

99-00 had the air temperature sensor. 01+ don't so you need to plug the hole

well 4.6 cars its 99+ I guess in the 3.8 its 01+.
