Next Upgrade?
I have posted this thread and options above more or less to get some advise. The car runs fairly decent now - not great - not fast - but it runs good enough for now as it sits. I have a ton of plans for it and right now I am trying to focus on the power output at this stage. I know all of you are screaming lower it, shorty antenna, window tint, wheels. While that is a logical step. Well I have most of the usual bolt-ons. The only thing I am lacking is a UDP, LT Headers. With these cars there isn't really the full spectrum of bolt-ons like there are for the GTs and Cobras. Pretty much the CAI, LTs, exhaust, UDP and tunes are it. There are a few other things but the car won't really benefit with out more engine work.
I have below in my sig what I am wanting to do next. Not really in any particular order. If you have something that is not on the choices please post. With the help of a few of my friends that have been turning wrenches (especially now that I can't - I messed up my arm pretty bad) and helping with moral support along with you guys I think it will turn out awesome. |
-ASP UDP 25%
-1.73 Roller rockers you dont have RR's listed and they are a great bolt-on. id do these, then i would get T-lock with gears. you really dont need Long tubes until youve done C/H/I. |
Suspension or gears + tlok + tune
|
suspension is what i'm doing
|
your next mod should be selling the v6 and getting a v8

no not really... the cost of the swap isnt worth it.. i could just super charge it and rape a 4v. |
wasn't talking swap meant sell the GT and put the money toward payments on a Cobra :D

I say go for looks!

Yea,, but if the 4v was supercharged it'd eat you alive.. those 4v's love forced induction as opposed to 2v's.. more room for intake! and exhaust! But honestly, im past souping up my 6cyl, ill never own another 6cyl mustang unless its between life and death. All id ever do is put long tubes on it. and make it louder than shit.. haha but thats about it. 6's arent worth it.. sure u can get em to sound good for your preference then theres always that v8 that u hear and ur car wont sound good to you for a few days. it happens to me all the time.

that is the most horrible response to these questions. ya sell your 195rwhp bolt-on v6 and spend thousands extra to get a 2v GT and get 220rwhp. or i could have spent 4k and had 350rwhp with TMA single turbo kit. and same goes for you. ditch the 2v GT and get a 96-01 4v and wait ditch that and get an 03 cobra. ditch that and get a gt500. it can keep going and going. your logic is flawless. |

J on v6power.net used to have a 96-98 cobra. turboed and just built to hell. now he has a 611rwhp v6 mustang @ 16psi. and if you ask him it wasnt any harder to get that or more than it was his cobra. you have to do the same things to both to hold the power. sure the cobra prolly did it on a little less boost, but who cares. if the motor can take it and they both make around the same power it doesnt matter. if you start with a v8 that is one thing. but spending thousands to upgrade isnt worth it to me unless it is a 03-04 cobra. otherwise you just spend the same amount of money it would take a v6 mustang to get there. i have two friends that have 03-04 cobras twin turboed and both are around the 900-1000rwhp mark. that's what im talking about.:D but you would never want to know how much money went into those cars. it would make you piss yourself. and same goes for most cars. |
