Supercharging a V6! 3.8L
Hi. I've been doing alot of posts recently, getting these forums nice and lively. But my next biggie is forced induction. I can get a turbo setup or a supercharged setup. I know the twin turbo will make the most power. BUT Im wanting something for a Daily driver. I think supercharging is the best for this. I seen the procharger at www.RPMoutlet.com UNDER the v6's stuff and its about 3800 bucks. Don't seem too bad considering a V8 swap would be much more expensive and not add as much power. it says it comes with injectors and plugs. I need to know. What all will i have to do? Any extras to buy? It comes with the gauges and i already have a 3 A pillar pod. SO im all setup. How do I install. Do i have to dyno it? Would a SCT livewire fix it and keep me from dynoing? What could i do to leave the fuelsystem stock. Anything i'd need to know please tell me. Also a guy has a m112 cobra supercharger around and i think hes gonna give it to me, Idk how i could make it work if its possible. Thanks!

should just go with a turbo setup, they are much more better than the supercharger

get a procharger, they make great superchargers for v6 mustangs.

the shop im going to take my stang too says that all the turbo kits they build have no lag wat so ever and also they charge only 3g's for everything and that includes labor

Prochargers do make some of the best superchargers all around, and if it was me personally I'd go that route. Whichever you do I hope you love it.

and lag is almost not an issue. most kits that i have seen make full boost at 3200-3800 RPM's. procharger will not make that til almost redline.
prochargers are the best superchargers out IMO. i have had mine for years without one problem.

comes with everything you need even a good tune.
I wouldnt buy anything from RPM outlet. ive heard to many bad things.
and if you dont need the dataloggin stuff look into www.superchargersforless.com this is where i bought mine.

Just remember the v6 internals are only good for around 300hp. Much more then that and your gonna have your hands full building a new motor. I would say get either a vortech or procharger. I put a powerdyne BD-11a on my brothers v6 and at 9lbs it made 270hp/260tq on a very conservative street tune. He had nothing else done to his car besides the S/C and dual exhaust.

Shut the hell up, your always so ******* negative. There are ppl that have spent WAY more on an engine for a street car, it's not like it's a bad thing...

I also would 2nd the use of Justin at VMPtuning.com their kit has every little thing you need to get the procharger up and running and its the 11psi kit. On Rpmoutlet they charge you another $100 just to up the boost to the 11psi pulley so figure its really $3913 then you need a fuel pump like the SVT focus pump thats another $95. Then you need to dyno tune the car thats another 450-600 depending on where you go. So Justins kit is the way to go.
If you have the cash I would upgrade to a D1 off the bat as its much cheaper to do it then. But for a street car the standard P1sc would be fine.
That and he is a v6 guru who has tuned I don't even know how many v6 cars.
Also you can't leave the fuel system stock and add a supercharger it isn't going to be able to feed that boost.
As for the install they come with very nice detailed instructions that are great. It will walk you threw the install and you can do it with a friend over the course of a few hours or a weekend.
Overall for a street car thats a daily driver and you just want more fun, the Procharger is hard to beat.

wtf are you talking about, what is negative about "good luck".

Thanks guys. IF i run into that cash, im goin with procharger. I like the sound of a SC Better anyways. But i know the turbo would give more power but it seems like alot more can go wrong with turbo. So sc all the way. And that site someone gave me up there. Has the Fuel pump and all. So ill def go that route sometime. Would the SC make the exhaust note change?

you fail...
but honestly its personal opinion i mean yes turbo has lag but it doesnt affect gas mileage and usually easier to upgrade the boost, but a SC u lose gas milage but its INSTANT POWER

those TMA kits will make full boost and have about the lag of a centrifical, at the time the centrifical has made only 5psi maybe alittle more.
and on centrificals you wont lose any mpg unless you hit boost. when it is in vacuum, it is like you dont have it.

maybe people with :
1. supercharged cars
2. turbo cars
3. have installed a supercharger or turbo
4. have spent a signifigant amount of time drive either a turbo or S/C'd mustang
should be posting, and giving advice. it looks to me like there are lots of magazine readers. reading about a company in a magazine does not make you an expert.
