hi flow cats

Would it help out if I put some hi flow cat? I know if I do this my exhaust would sound better would I see some HP gain?

High flow cats will make the car not sound so raspy unlike if you get rid of your cats on the v6 and yes they do flow more so they make more power.

2.25" with no air tube, round or oval does not matter it's up to you.

i just went with a o/r h-pipe is there an advantage other than sound for catted or non.

ive still yet to figure out what the O/R stands for. like O/R H pipe. Im new to the dual exhaust thing. All ive did is change the stock exhaust for a perfect fit flowmaster 40, and i think its the best cheap exhaust you can do. Ill get a video sometime. Its not very loud, but cutting the cats will ruin its controlled sound it has. People have asked if its a v8 when i start it, but they know after i rev it then its a v6, dont got that rev down sound. But all i can say is, if your gonna do any exhaust, my fav sound is with a long tube header setup, no cats, H pipe, and 2 flow 40's with turndowns. Thats my dream exhaust when i get more money.

O/R stands for off road, means it has no cats.

i see, then dream exhaust is LT's with O/R H pipe, and 2 flowmaster force 2's!

Ok thank for the help my set-up is a true dual I have no h or o/r. I have some flowmaster 40, Shit where I lived at there are a lot of gt and my car sound why better then the gt I took off the rev limiter I don’t rev it much but it sound good for being a true dual I just going to put some hi flow cat for it can be a little more deep tone and get a little more HP.

im not sure how good of a sound u will get. a guy around my house has a v6 with a 8.8 rear and 4.56 gears. and he has his cats gutted, in other words, there still there he just ripped the insides out. and i really dont like the sound. its different tho for the area. lots of mustangs where i live. all are quiet. but idk dude go ur own path, be different! thats how i roll.. look at the 20vs17s in tire and wheel talk, i used to have 20's haha.

spike_africa 12-16-2008 03:57 PM

That's why he wants high flow cats. They will help keep the sound mellow and not awful like when the v6 has no cats on it.
