drifting?
so the v8 guys have us beat in the quarter mile. any of you 6ers try to make your car go sidewayz, real fast, round a turn lol. i figure before i get new rims and tires i mite set up some cones in a parking lot or something, hit my traction control button, and give it a go but from what i understand its not really drifting in an automatic like mine its just pulling the e-brake and power sliding, but I dont have a jap car anyway so who gives a damn.(I can sense i mite b getting some rants about how drifting isnt a sport and this is America :t: we dont take kindly to your crazy jap motorsports, but i already pissed off some people talking about racing on interstate 43 on these forums anyway so who cares lol)

autocross > drifting :D Much more fun

lol... i hope you spend 2-3G on suspension before you go try that
oh and btw, they wouldnt have you beat in the 1/4th if you put a FI in your V6. IE: superchager |
well i just got her like a month ago we will see if i can manage to get some cash together for some forced induction :)

A v6 with a good driver will have no problem taking a v8 in auto cross

As far as the OP's topic; I just don't see the point in pulling the e-brake to make the car slide around. Doesn't seem fun to me, using horsepower and good car control to sling it around cones seems fun. Also cones and sliding just don't go together in my mind, I am too AutoX minded I guess. I want traction and perfect car placement when I go around cones. |
drifting as actually not a bad time i have done it in a few imports but my Stang is way to stright line oriented but if you get some good suspension and a solid power set up its awesome to snap the car side ways while totally in control

I use to drift my v6 all the time back when I first got it. Dirt roads, asphalt, whatever...
and it was fun as shit, just dont go any faster than say...45, haha, if you're not experienced. But.....dont do it too much, or push your car too hard, cause it really isnt a good idea to do it on that stock suspension, and if you dont have money to buy tires every month. |
