dude, i wouldn't go with headers. on the 3.8L the short tube headers are not very restrictive at all. if you seriously want more HP, then do a head, cam, and intake upgrade. you already have split port heads, so you might not even have to upgrade those, just port them out a little bit.

Or just hold off on all that money, drop 500 and get some nitrous for quick and relatively cheap power. ;/

A 75 shot of nitrous won't destroy your car.

Forged internals would be necessary for over 100 shot.

true... depending on the milage of his car and how often he decides to run with the nitrous on.

If mileage is an issue, then don't modify it.

Then again theres guys with 120 thousand miles running nitrous every weekend at the track, but they've taken decent care of their cars.

again, another good point man.

my ride has 90K miles on it. but it hasn't been driven hard at all, and has always gotten regular maintenance.

therefore i'm going to be doing a 4.3L stroker kit with forged internals for the engine, a h/c/i swap, LT headers, a catted h-pipe, and a 75 shot of nitrous for the car.

why? because honestly now the car has become a weekend toy because i work in manhatten and don't drive in at all, and don't care about milage anymore.

even a 100shot on the v6 can be done rather safely on a stock motor. But a 75 shot can be done all day long on a stock motor. You guess don't realize how strong that motor is stock. There are guys pushing alot of HP threw stock motors in the 3.8L they are tuff bitches. And 98 doesnt have split port heads its still single port.
