silly question..

where is the trans fluid dipstick on the 3.8 (2002)? i went to go check this morning and couldn't find it. only looked around for about 2 minutes before i had to go into the office, felt like a total dumbass because i couldn't find it, heh.

right by the firewall on the left side of the engine. its kinda burried and it should have a black looped handle, not yellow like the oil dip stick.

ah, i wasn't looking far enough back. I was looking on the other side of the air intake closer to the front. I'll check it on my lunch break, thanks.

P.S. the "rent-a-strips" are coming off my doors tonight, as well as the door stripes :smokin:

my best friend loves it on my car and says it gives it a nice black accent....brother is supportive and says it will make it look simpler and more sleek.(sp?)

well i just went to take the little door bump thing off. i took them both off and then went to clean the adhesive off. that shit is STUCK ON.

how the hell do you get that stuff off? im gonna have to drive around tomorrow like a goofball with it on my yellow car :P

Dream 06-11-2008 08:41 PM

lol. get ur heat gun back out and warm up the glue. get it so its almost too hot to touch. then just use ur thumb and roll it off. after it leaves the next streak, goo gone. after the wax is gone, re-wax your car. and TA-DA. better then brand new lol

doobie 06-12-2008 05:44 AM

im gonna run to Lowe's today at lunch and see if they have some kind of plastic scraper that wont kill the paint. that will make the process so much easier. my thumb is killing me this morning because i was doing that yesterday and my thumb feels sore as hell right onw

Yeah use goo gone, that stuff with do the trick, you can also use goof off. it might take some time but that will work.

should of taken you 5 minutes with goo gone.

doobie 06-13-2008 05:46 AM

i tried melting/loosening the top layer first (that sort of worked because goo gone doesnt do shit on that layer). ended up rubbing goo gone/goof off on it and then with a dry cloth rubbing it off so it would fall apart slowly. everything else i tried didn't work.

at least its done!
