yeah i hear yah. I'm in the process of figuring out wether the rear end ill be getting is a cobra rear end or not. If its a cobra rear end it wont bolt right up and youll have to get alot more parts. So hopefully it works out.

SnTBakosFinest 05-08-2008 06:59 PM

Ya..well...i think ill offer him like $100 for it..if it doesn't work then it doesn't work, lol.

PColav6 05-08-2008 07:06 PM

No, it won't work, better give me his # so I can take it off his/your hands and properly dispose of it

hahaha, thats exactly what i wanted to hear. So your pretty much saying everything will bolt right up to the rearend with no problem including my stock axle?

SnTBakosFinest 05-08-2008 07:08 PM

lol nah ill take my chances :)

If it's from an SN95 GT it's a direct swap, your axles should be fine.

But seriously, F both of you, I've been looking for an 8.8" for a few months and no luck on anything under $400.lol

if i end up getting the rear end its going to be cheaper than getting gears and 10 times better.

engineman312 05-08-2008 07:35 PM

its a complete bolt on, and shouldn't be a problem at all.

does the rear come with stock gears or with aftermarket?

Stock gears are 3.27 for 99-04s,maybe they were lower on the 94-98s

Dave04Mustang 05-08-2008 08:00 PM

did you find it at a junkyard? If theres more I would drive to Houston to get it for that price haha

my bad the gears are 3:27's so they must be stock gears.

and Dave i didn't get it from a junk yard im getting it from some guy on one my my many forums. It pays to have connections

SnTBakosFinest 05-08-2008 11:00 PM

Lol.

The 8.8 I'm getting has a posi, with 3.73s...i SHOULD go 4.10s..but i'll live with it..

And I'll get mine for around 50-100 ..he just said "give me a price, then we'll hit it on a weekend and have it done in a day"

:)

3.8LMustang 05-09-2008 07:55 AM

its it hard to remove the rear end. can u do it urself or does it have to be pro. done?

spike_africa 05-09-2008 07:58 AM

Its not hard, its a matter of unbolting items and reinstalling the new one.

3.8LMustang 05-09-2008 08:02 AM

how long would it take to do this?

herndy_1 05-09-2008 09:20 AM

Couple hours at most. I thought the GT's had quad shocks on the rear though?

That's what I meant. haha.

spike_africa 05-09-2008 10:05 PM

I dont know if the v6 has quad shocks or not, but regardless you dont need them really. Most of us once we get aftermarket lower control arms toss those in the trash cause they arent needed anymore and are just extra weight.

mustangV6_04 05-12-2008 07:23 PM

well from what i was told the width between the sn95 and our body style are different so you would have to run a wheel spacer to get it to the original with...so i just went with an 8.8 out of an 03 and put 3.73's in it :) didn't take but about and hour and a half of my time and a friend

but im not for shure thats just what i was told but my dad is a ford tech i guess i could ask next time i see him

engineman312 05-12-2008 10:24 PM

don't use spacers... not worth it.

spike_africa 05-13-2008 06:56 AM

Yes the 94-98 rear ends are slightly shorter then the 99-04 cars, and the fox rears are even shorter then the sn95 rears (94-98).
