Gear and T-Lok installation too much $$
I bought the 3.73 gears, the bearing kit, a t-lok, and gear oil, everything needed for installation. I brought it to a shop and the guy told me it might run me about 500 to 600 dollars to install. He said it might be less depending how easy the gears fit. Am i being ripped off??

A good way to tell is get a quote from a dealership, if its alot less than the dealership its a good price, if its near or more your being ripped offed.
|
bahahaha. the shop that is doing mine is charging me $150 for the install and they said it will only take them 3-4hours. the yare doing 4.10's and T-lock for me and i also have the install kit and 3quarts of gear oil(it only hold 2.5quarts though).

600 would be good if it included the parts and fluids. Thats to much money. For someone supplying all the parts and fluid it should not cost over $150-$300max. I had my F150 gears installed for $180 and i gave them everything. Then i had it redone and they did it for $540 with new gears and install and fluid and i gave them a new posi. SO thats very high.

where in NY are you shady?? if its on long island i know plenty of good shops.
|
my shop charged me $400 for the install, install kit, and fluids. and this is the best place in the city. if you have everything, it should be no more than $300.
