reverse glow gauge help

i bought reverse glow gauge insert. i messed around with it a bunch to get it how i wanted, i took the needles off and messed around with it, made changes and fixed the needles and got it how i finally want it. but one thing i haven't been able to figure out the electrical aspect. it came with 2 black wires, one ground and the other goes in the dimmer switch?? do i take off the adapter that is on the end connecting the 2 black wires?? it wont fit in the electrical box. but does anyone have any pictures of where im supposed to put the dimmer switch wire. should i splice them?? i dunno, thanx.

You have a 99-04? I spliced mine into the largest gray wire, the power switch wire, for the headlights. I just grounded it to a screw on the right side behind the gauge cluster. I don't have any pics, but the power wire should be in the center of the wire bundle. Put a volt meter to it if you want to make sure you have the right wire. I just stuck it on, and electrical taped it. I think you other black wire might be the switch to turn on your gauges(?). Mine was. It came with a seperate button to turn them on

How did you splice the red wire to the power wire. Did you use a squeeze splicer?

Any thoughts?
