Will adding a t-lok to a sixer increase acceleration by itself or does it only help if you put new gears in?

a tlok just allows power to be given to both tires and the gears will increase your acceleration rate. If you do gears have the tlok put in at the same time

so the t-lok alone doesnt do much except for traction?

It won't affect acceleration at all, the car will in no way feel/go faster from the t-lock. Add gears if you are thinking of doing a t-lock, they will help out acceleration alot.

yes and no. it won't actually increase acceleration, but you will get more traction. With both tires spinning you should also be able to launch the car harder.

just a side question, on ebay i've seen people selling 7.5 t-loks and gears from rangers and such...would these work on a mustang or no...just curious because theyre a lot cheaper. haha

well if you hook better, dont you speed up faster?
at 195rwhp when i made shifts into 2nd and sometimes 3rd i would get some tires chirp in 3rd and a little peel in 2nd. if the T-lock would have been on i would have grabbed and had that little more of a push. so yes it will help you in low acceleration but nothing higher end because that has nothing to do with traction. traction is 70% of it. that's why i ride on the street with nito 555R's drag radial, for traction reasons.
