Hey i didn't introduce myself. I like the forum here and the people in it. So i figured id introduce myself and my new mustang. My name is Kevin and i live in Northern VA. i bought a mustang a few weeks ago, however i currently go to school at WVU so i havent been able to drive her much but the time i had on spring break when i got it i put 500 miles on it. It's a 2001 with 40,200 miles. There is a pic of me and my gf in there too, only pic of me on my new laptop. As for modding goes. I'm going to do the-
MAC cat-back dual exhaust Chin spoiler (just for pcola) black angel eye headlights i have an 8in shorty ant. and bullett pedals at home cold air intake possibly window tint 18in cobra r chrome rims with 275/35/18 tires all round. -Any other suggestions are appreciated, Thanks all. |

welcome.
I wouldnt bother with a cold air intake, it will do nothing. If you are going to put rims on it, you need to lower it. otherwise it will look bad with the huge fender gap. |

My name's Kevin as well, as for a suggestion I would think twice on those angel eyes, they really don't look good on our cars. If you want something nice but subtle I'd get the smoked clear-corners from AM, they are a bit darker than other stores' clear corner lights for some reason, and look better. Slither may or may not see this thread but he'll recommend you to join his site and club for lame silver mustangs, www.silvermustangs.com And zigg, CAI's add to the cool factor. you can get one off ebay for like $30. They make awesome whiny noises. lol

exactly, they do nothing. He should save that money for springs, you know how bad a stang with 17's or 18's looks before its lowered.

You don't need to rush for new shocks and struts depending on the springs...1.5" drop or less and you should be okay with the stock ones for a good while. I'm running H&R super sports on the stock springs until I can afford bilsteins and haven't noticed my shocks crapping out on me yet.

Shocks and struts for lower rate springs are fairly cheap, if you get an eibach prokit you could get Tokico Blues which IIRC are under $400 for all 4. Bilsteins and Toki Illumnas and the like are around $600 for the higher rate springs. |

Welcome. I would highly suggest not getting the angle eye headlights. In my opinion they don't seem right and many people say the visibility is worse than stock. Headlights and tail lights should stay stock. However, if you want to switch your headlights there is one other option:
http://www.americanmuscle.com/sm99hewiclco.html So if you want to change the headlights I would say either go with that link or keep them stock. Thats just what I think though all that really matters is if you like the looks of the angle eye's since its your car haha |

yeah i did read some complaints about it, they do look cool at night but the daytime pictures dont make the angel eyes look so hot. thanks for the advice. yeah im more concerned with the exhaust and rims for now. i may even leave the headlights stock.

I have a pic somewhere... Here we go, excuse the bad condition of my chin, it's been into ditches and everything. lol Line these edges up /w the fender ![]() ![]() Front should recess like this if you want it to look like the Machs ![]() But you can stretch it out to make it flush all the way through, some people have done this and it looks pretty good.

about the lowering thing w/the 17/18's i wanna do that sooo bad but i live down a dirt road that's got a lot of potholes and dips n stuff so it'd be almost impossible to get down it, but i'm gonna try! lol. i agree w/the cai's doing nothing, i'd just get a k&n and call it quits. i'd also throw a tuner into the mix. and gears!
