supersix

how much hp would a supersix power pak and 4.3 stroker kit produce?

I bet if you called them they could give you some pretty exact/avg. numbers, possibly mail you some info on it. I'm suprised they don't have it on thier website, I didn't look, just assumed you did.

most built 4.3L motors produce 250-260rwhp

heads and intakes are just ported. when an after market comes out for heads and intakes it will prolly hit near 300rwhp. one guy is trying right now.

The 4.3L rotating assembley is around 1.8k-2k mark for a forged setup, which should be done if your doing it anyway.

then you just need a 4.2L crankshaft and flywheel(maybe). crankshaft has come down in price so not that bad. also a bigger cam is recommended for the bigger motor.

a 4.2L from an F150 depends on condition and luck. have seen them as low as $800 or around the 1.5k-2k mark.

wait. 300rwhp from the 4.3 alone? including the stage 3 heads, cam, and ported upper/lower of course.

he is trying to get 300rwhp. the most so far is 273rwhp.

everything is ported. you can only go so far with porting something. when the after market stuff comes out that dont use stock heads or intakes it will hit around the 300rwhp mark.

do the ported heads and intake work hand in hand with the 4.3 kit? Would the 4.3 kit work effectively or do you have to upgrade everything else aswell?

they really do work together really well. it would still be good without the intakes, but you would need them to get most gains from it. the upper intake on these cars really sucks from what i here.

Cam will be need for the bigger motor. but the kit can use stock heads and intakes.

what kind of headers and exhaust is this guy running with the 4.3L? its my current project, and i'm leaning towards LT headers and a catted x-pipe. how does his sound with his set up?

Longtubes is the way to go IMO.

x-pipes are raspy in general. the best sound will come from a catted H

yeah, i'm leaning towards LT's, but i'm having trouble finding a catted h-pipe. will i be able to use one off a GT since i have the dual exhaust?

engineman312 04-18-2008 02:09 PM

let me re-phrase that... i don't mean to use a stock GT mid pipe. i meant, can i use an after-market midpipe made for a GT, since i now have dual exhaust?

give super six a call man. they are the only ones in this country playing and tuneing v6's. their stuff works big time great. i'm not up on their 3.8 items, but know there are several stage 3 guys running their motors and turning 440 rwhp out of a 4.0.

you most understand when working a v6 over.that what you do is for your own enjoyment and a bseg on your face when you wump a v8 at the track and that is something that does happen.

we now have the web to help out to making choices , not like when i started 45 years a go. running a inline six and winning rounds against the v8's of those days. another point with a six is you still can get mid 20 mpg's when the v8's can't esp.with todays gas prices.

good luck man. email me if you would like some of my own leads. i won't post them in any forum.

engineman312 04-20-2008 03:33 AM

yeah, i've been emailing tom from supersix and andy from tma turbo about what i want to do.

i think i'm going to go with a 4.3L LR withan 8.7:1 compression ratio and 10psi of boost. that should take me to the 400 range. it also not too much crazy power that i have to upgrade my manual transmission right away and also leaves me room to grow.

actually there not the only ones. look up Delkperformance.com

he is the fastest production v6 mustang in the world. 9.8 @ 137mph and tuning one right now that made 660rwhp on 17psi.
