cold air painting
 
i just purchased the cold air intake for the 3.8 mustng 99-04 model i saw one guy had his painted blue i was wondering if anyone doul tell me what kind of paint to use im goin for black with red flames thanx

well, I've seen some people paint theirs too. What kind of Cold air intake did you purchase? It it is chrome like mine, you can go to most auto parts stores where you can purchase chrome paint. If it isnt chrome, I would use some sort of temperature resistant paint. I've heard of people using brake caliper paint on engine components but i think you can buy engine compartment paint that works a little better. Black with red flames? Do you have a stencil or are you just a really good artist?:D

Powdercoat FTW, but if you do a good prep job for the paint it should come out fine.

i was thinking i should use caliper paint sense it is heat resistand i mean its intake its not going to get any hotter than brakes and no i dont have a stencil my best friend can draw flames really good

Caliper paint will look horrible, unless you mean the spray can kind. I think that since your intake is chrome already, some of that duplicolor chrome paint will make it look good. Chrome black and then some chrome red flames, good IMO.
