Pypes 409 Stainless Steel Street-Pro Catback V6

Hey has anyone had any experience with the Pypes 409 catback for V6 mustangs. I am looking into purchasing it from Americanmuscle.com Is it easy to install? I am fairly proficient in the mechanics but unfortunately, I do not have access to a lift. Is it loud? I am not as interested in horsepower as I am in a few extra decibels roarin down the road.
:D

The best thing I can recommened then..

Is take your car to a local muffler shop (some small one..not midas or some BS)

And have them fabricate you an exhaust.

H Pipe..I'd go with Magnapaks for some good sound.

Pypes...haven't heard enough about them to try them out.

Well, I went to a small shop around my area and they quoted me around 800 bucks. The pypes system is only $314. Plus It says that it can be installed with only jackstands. I was just wondering if anyone had purchased the set-up. Thanks for the quick reply and the advice.

Well if its bolt on, all you need are simple tools and some jack stands. But you might have to cut off the old tailpipe from the muffler to get it out from over the axle.

800 bucks? lol. my setup

catback(flowmaster 40's): $500
taking it to exhaust shop to be done: $150

they made it trueduals(hacked off the y-pipe and etc. cats are still on) and provided me with hangers too. i'm happy with it :)

Ya lets see..

I had the Y cut H installed, 2 magnaflow mufflers..hangers...

I paid..400 total...you need to do some searchin bud.

I wouldn't go with pypes..it may be cheap..but if you want a decent sound..go with something like

Magnaflow..Flowmaster...Bassani..Borla..

It'll cost some cash.. but..you get what you pay for

i think this is the same set-up i have on my sixer. i got it with pypes catted x-pipe and bbk shorty headers. it sounds pretty good, i've heard better, but at least it does NOT sound like a ricer like other systems i've heard. the only problem i had was that it wasnt a "direct fit" as they claim. in order to make it fit they had to trim the pipes a little bit, and that cost extra. its a good system in the end...just a bit of a headache for install. at least in my case. hope i helped.

Don't bye pypes.
1.) fitment is horrible
2.) sound is horrible

Exception: If you have an s197 4.0L, then pypes mid muffler system ftmfw.

anything else 94-04 v6:
- Flowmaster [deep / less rasp]
- Magnaflow [smoother tone / more rasp]
- Mac [kinda deep / mid rasp]

Of course that can change with mid pipes.
