goin for an oil change tomorrow. its a 2001 v6. wasnt sure if this forum or general tech was the right one so i picked a winner.
should i use 5w30 or 10w30 thanks |

V6 Driver's manual recommends 5w20 or 5w30. So go with the 5w30.

10w30 probably wouldn't be good for your engine. It's a more lubricating viscosity, made for bigger straight sixes, but usually it's put in v8s.

my dad just put 5w30 into his camero ss. its bone stock so he said it would b over doin it if i did it in my 6. he said go wiht the 10w30. should i do the 10w30 or the 5w30 or 5w20
