V6 Exhaust ?

What is needed to turn a V-6 into a dual exhaust? Can you just slap on a GT X or H pipe and then add a GT cat back?

You need a midpipe for a V6 (or custom/fabricated) and then any GT catback

you need to cut it after the two catalytic converters and weld on a custom H/X pipe since stock its a y pipe

Are you lookin for a 94-04 V6 or a 2005+?

I have been doin some research on the 2005+ sixers, and im having some trouble too.

Dont wanna seem like a smart-a**... but, there is a huge sticky thread on the 94-04 v6 in the V6 Tech Forums....

Wombozi: It doesn't cover that. And WaterDR happens to be an admin..hes smart enough to know whats on the boards.

Water, I don't think you can stick a GT mid pipe onto a v6..the sizes of the manifolds are different I beleive.

But you can easily get a H pipe custom made for you..cut the Y off, and have a muffler shop add in a H. It ran me like 50 bucks

The X pipe isn't recommended for a v6 anyways i believe.

if you buy an H pipe it must be made for a V6 not a GT. It is usually easier to just have a shop make a custom H pipe. Then yes any GT catback will work

so all i need to do is go to a shop and let them make a H-Pipe then i'm good to go? won't it also have to fit the Long Headers?

Either way the shop can still make the H pipe. If you buy long tube headers (which need to be for a V6) then the midpipe (H pipe) will just be shorter and if you stay stock the midpipe will just be longer.
