Just bought...

Just wanted to say hey, bought a new 2007 V6 Mustang Prem and was wondering where some of you go to find the eye candy for your cars at a decent price? I have a few things I'd like to get, hood scoop, louvers, CAI, duel exaust, interior "shine" haha, stuff like that. Nothing too crazy but just to make the car a little more fun than it already is. Any suggestions are welcomed! It's good to be back, Tyler :D

Good luck with that... most guys here are go-fast types rather than look fast. Steeda.com and AmericanMuscle.com carry extensive lines of products.

Invest in a supercharger. There is a system out there for a v6 that claims 500 hp. If that is true it would be soooo cool

well then i stand corrected. I thought that the new six was a 3v just like the GT. well that means the system i mentiond is not for a six but i bet it still could see some good gains

you should shop around and not just buy from one place. Not saying your bad but i have found out that if i find a better price some other place I tell them and then have them match it and then tell the other sellers what ive done and its a price battle. Ive done it with AM and stangmods

The new v6s make more power then the ol' 5.0s

Damn, I hate saying it, but its the truth...

yup I think thats the new v6 make more hp than a 95 cobra which is sweet but...how is it on the TQ

r3dn3ck 11-14-2007 12:56 PM

tq will be lower. the 5.0's cranked out like 300tq IIRC (btq, not rwtq)

There is very little TQ loss due to drivetrain... In fact, there was an article in MM&FF where they dyno'd a bone stock 94GT with, I forget how many miles, but don't forget it was a 13 year old car, and it made 300ft*lbs...

Down to the air silencer stock...

StreamlineGT 11-14-2007 08:35 PM

Sorry I didn't get back here sooner but I forgot to subscribe to my own post haha. Oh I've looked around and subscribed to a bunch of parts mags, I'm just waiting for them to arive. I'm sure I'll get a SC sometime in the future but that's a ways off, I'm just looking to make it look fast for now haha. After all if I wanted a fast car I'd have gone with the GT and an Auto for the drag strip but this is my DD and I just honestly don't need all the extra power...yet...and then there's the extra 10 grand on the price tag that goes along with it and that didn't look too good either. Anybody have a pref on a good CAI though?

StreamlineGT 11-14-2007 08:39 PM

Oh and I've got to say this thing has a hell of a lot of TQ and feels/sounds more like a V8 than a V6 to me. For those of you that haven't driven one of the new ones, you should take a test drive and you'll see what I mean. :D Also is there anybody from AZ around here?

3.8for the win 11-14-2007 08:39 PM

How much do they tend to run? I'm looking for the most bang for the buck, after all I have a lot of payments to make on this thing!

Also do any of you know what the difference if the lug size is between the new and old Mustangs? I've heard they aren't interchangable? My 3000GT has almost new 18 inch chrome rims on it that I know would fit the pre 05 mustangs but I'm not so sure about the new ones?

probably about 250 for a new one. I would spend that much on an air intake for the new stangs since apparently CAI actually do make a difference on the newer ones. If you had a 99-04 I wouldn't have suggested it because of the no/minimal gain. But in your case go for it I've got one on mine but I got it used :D

EDIT: As for the bolt pattern I believe they are the same. Someone will correct me if I'm wrong though

PColav6 11-15-2007 08:05 AM

Well I think most online retailers (AM included) say Pre-05 wheels won'tfit on the S197s

99-04's have 24mm offset as opposed to 2005+ 40mm offset if that makes a difference.

StreamlineGT 11-15-2007 05:46 PM

Thanks for the info guys. With a CAI on the new cars, I've read you have to have it tuned or? That's what I figured about the wheels, but I wasn't really 100% sure. Guess I'll just sell the 18 inch chrome rims and use the money for the CAI and a couple car payments or something haha. Or just leave them on the 3000GT and sell that. It would be nice to have something in the bank...

PColav6 11-15-2007 05:47 PM

Yeah, you need a tune when putting a CAI on the new mustangs.

But yeah - sell that 3kgt and start buying more mustang parts :D

To tell you the truth I need to sell it and buy a house hahaha. Oh and if anybody knows somebody looking for a 96 cobra, red, 70-80 thousand miles, my brother is trying to sell it, he's not sure for how much yet but just thought I'd throw that out there. He's moving to CA for school and could use the cash.
