Dashboard Lights

So today I seen my dashboard light for my speedometer isn't lighting up out of no where. So basically when I drive at night its a guessing game of how fast I'm going. How do i get my light back so i can see my speed haha!! help!

possible blown fuse check your owners manual and locate the fuse for the odometer lights..

take it to a stereo or alarm shop, as they should be familiar with vehicle wiring. you could probably convince them to give it a quick once over for not too much

um, just to clarify sumthing..is it JUST the light behind the speedometer? or is it ALL of your dash lights? maybe the bulb went bad?

trickedoutstangg 04-22-2007 08:00 PM

alright so heres the situation the lights that say drive, park, 1st, 2nd, neutral that usually light up orange on the automatic shifter dont light up anymore eather. So i cant tell what gear im in at night. its kinda a big deal cuz if it were a manual the lights wouldnt matter. but i havta guess which gear im in now. and the dash lights dont work at all just the odometer works it tells me how many miles i got on my car and lights up but that doesnt help me see how fast im goin lol

It is most likely a blown fuse. You could take it to a local audio shop as said above, or if you have friends that actually know what their doing, let them take a look. Any auto place will look for cheap, and some for free, just a matter of finding the right guys to look.

If its just the speedo more then likly its the bulb. Its not hard to replace just ogtta pull the gauage cluster out and take the bulb out the back of it. Maybe 2 hours if your not sure what your doing to do it. Its i belive 13 bolts total to pull it out. Not counting the headlight knobe that has to come off.

trickedoutstangg 04-23-2007 05:53 AM

ya but its the 1st,2nd, neutral, drive, on the shifter that wont light up eather so im thinkin its not a bulb more like a fuse. Does anyone know which fuse it could be? I dont have a manual i bought the car used?
