True Dual Exhaust.
Im looking at a Mustang SLP Loudmouth II Exhaust with a Pypes 409 Stainless Steel Off-Road X-Pipe. Before I go out and spend $650-700, I want to make sure that will fit on my v6.
|
i've heard most of the ppl on here talk about some sort of adapter that will make most GT kits fit the 6er..i believe it's kinda like another Y pipe... hope that helps!
oh, one more thing... ya don't need an x-pipe w/our v6's...sumthin' to do w/it being an even firing motor. but ur choice/preference whether or not ya put one on. |
In order to use a GT Catback you need to get rid of your Y pipe and use a X or H midpipe.
|
damn, for the price and the hassle of a GT system, ya might as well just get a custom job at a local exhauste shop...just my opinion :- /

Just go into an exhaust shop and have them either: 1. Cut the y pipe and run straight pipes to your cat-back. 2. Make a mid pipe (H or X) It'll be easier and cheaper this way. |
Oh and I forgot to mention that you don't want to run a y pipe to another y pipe because that is defeating the performance purpose of a dual exhaust set-up. You're trying to eliminate the bottle neck a Y-pipe produces so why add another y pipe?

I don't think SLP is going to sound very good on a sixer, you should listen to some clips first and make sure it's exactly what you want.
Edit: need to clarify SLP with an X pipe and no cats isn't going to sound that good. |
I have only found one clip and it sounded good at idle but i want to hear what it sounds like when driving
|
if you leave the cats and run an H-pipe, it might sound okay, otherwise the six really loves a chambered muffler to take the unpleasant sounds out
