Lowering Springs
 

I want to lower my 95 Mustang. Now my problem is, i need to know if all I need to do is buy springs but not buy all new shocks. Do and can you only put lowering springs on the car and why do people buy all new shocks will my stock shocks not work with the stock springs or whats the reasons? Please let me know something. Thanks.

yes you can do the springs only, but just doing that can blow your stock shocks/struts pretty fast. If your 95 still has the original shocks...it would be a good time to change them anyhow. The stock shocks just aren't meant to be paired with lowering springs, but you can get away with it for a while. Its best to do springs AND shocks. might I suggest H&R Super Sport or Race springs and Bilstein shocks...I run the Race springs and Bilstein Shocks...makes the car feel wonderful. The Starter Box from MM is a great way to start.

I got my H&R's and my struts are fine... the only thing you mayneed is a set of Caster Camber plates do you don't rip up your tires cuz the measurements are off. I don't have CC plates on mine but then again they were able to align my car pretty damn close to perfect w/out them...i've had it lowered a year and I don't have any considerable wear on other then normal.

H&R's I would say are your best bet, i have friends that got eibach and got alota chatter....

i was considering running that same setup...compared to to stock do you bottom out often or have to drive extra careful to avoid bottoming out? also how much worse is the ride quality? thx.

I have the starter box from MM. H&R Race Springs and Bilstein HD's. I have NEVER bottomed out. The Race Springs ride a bit higher than the super sports. The ride quality to me isn't "worse" it is stiff and solid which equals better to me. IMO its much stiffer than stock and that is what i prefer. The MM SFC's help a lot in the stiff department though. I liked my car before and I LOVE it now. The Bilsteins do a great job of controlling the ride. Remember that your car will not drop as far as a V8 cause your sixer is lighter. I suggest you call Maximum Motorsprts and tell them what you plan to do with your car and let them guide you. They really know their sh!t when it comes to Mustang suspensions.

hmm, i don't believe i've heard of the starter box before...what all is included in it and how much?
(not to sound like a j@ckass) yea i realize that the car won't drop as much as an 8, as long as it has a nice firm setup, the stock setup is a lil too soft...but i live down a looong dirt road so i don't want to get beat to death just leavin' my house. btw how much did it lower ur car??
