So I got a call from my mom this weekend, and aparently i qualified for a new grant at my college. So on top of my tax return i have another 1500 dollars or so and im also starting a new job today to give me more hours than my last one was giving me.
Any way, now im looking at doing N2O, the zex wet kit from rpm, and something else. At firts I thought about also get the spintech side exhaust via y pipe as well as the wet kit, but now im not sure cause i have a few choices.
So my question is, how much is the zex kit going to end up costing me? I mean with new spark plugs and anything else i may need. And also what else do i need to supplement the kit to keep it safe. My motor has about 98000miles on it, and i cant aford to blow it right now, so i defanitaly want to keep it safe. I need to know this prety quick cause as soon as the check clears the bank i plan on ordering some stuff. Oh yea and after i get the nitrous im thinking either a sct livewire, exhaust, or gears depending on how much they will cost to install. I can istall the exhaust so thats a plus

I don't really know how to answer your question, but two things:

1.) You're foolish to spend your college money on your car.
2.) 98,000 miles on a 2002-- that car's been around :ohsnap:

98000 on a 02??? My 2000 only has 62000 miles on it.

Don't put your college money in your car. Save it for a real emergency or for school.

Coming from a fellow sixer and college student/athlete save college money for college you'd be surprised how expensive school is even with a scholarship.

My school is entierly paid for. This grant just came out of no where, I have allready paid for my classes and books for this semister, so this grant is pretty much a pay back for earlier in my opion. Plus i work hard at two jobs part time so i can do things like this for my car, So alot of what im spending ive already saved, and now ive decided to save my tax return instead of spending it so im not being totally stupid about my money im saveing a chushin for a rainy day. plus i live by myself in a travel trailer, in a small town, so my cost of living is really low, and my car is paid off and my insurance is my dads gift to me, ... for the time being. Ive tried to think this out as best i can.

here is my 2 cents unless u plan on racing ur car ditch the ZEX. And just go with the gears exhaust and tune. u dont need nitro for the DD. But thats if your not racing at the track.

Well personally, I'd still hold on to the incoming cash and every week, put a certain amount towards the car (thats why I have an account set up for it) so at least you have "some" spending money... but your finances are your own business... but anyway, on the subjet of milage.

Hold on.. let me punch some numbers....

The typical milage for a 2000 is 76,000 miles. The typical milage for a 2002 is 67,000.

With that being said, you might want to get a diagnostic or just get the car "checked-out" before you do anything. With 96,000 miles in a matter of 4 years (remember, its just now March,) there might be some stuff thats going that you might not know about. Feel me?

In other words, it would be much more economically reasonable if you just saved your money for future mods on a future car then spend it on a car thats been run pretty well at 98,000.

We're on your side here man-- we'd rather see you in the black than with little to nothing after putting so much into a car thats on the side of the road with the fourways. Feel me?

so ive been thinking about it, and i absolutly hear what you guys are saying. And, after some thought im leaning against getting n2o. With that said, would it be a good idea in any way to get gears and a tlok, and a tuner. i got a quote today on a gear install ($200). Im pretty much set on getting a sct livewire; i was even going to get that with my nitrous kit any way. Or, I could get the side exhaust wich i was also hoping to do in the future, what is yalls idea on the situation?

We just didn't want you to blow up your car.. well you can blow up any car... but you have a higher chance of blowing up a car with more milage than less. :ohsnap:
