Question Well, more curiosity than anything..

My car is: '98 3.8l 5spd. 142,xxxmi

I have a feeling something is going out in the rear end, really doesn't have any major impact on how the car drives, but it is incredibly annoying..

Basically when I let out on the clutch from a stop I get, almost a grinding/ bouncing/ maybe studdering sound out of the passenger side rear. I know it is something in the rear end, but not sure if it is axles, bearings or what.. Any ideas? (it also makes a very faint grinding sound at highway speed.) Again, right rear passenger side. BTW just added new rear end oil recently, and there wasn't a whole lot of metal/ shavings in the chunk.

I also have a problem out of the opposite side.. Driver side front, a Popping sound, seems like it has something to do with the drivers side suspension usually happens while turning or accelerating from a stop. Don't think it is a shock, because it is a pretty distinct POP.

Pretty sure that both of these things are normal wear and tear on a car that has the amount of mileage as mine, but figured i'd see if anyone ahd any ideas..

Thank guys.

I'm guessing it is you bearings. I'd set it up on some jack stands and see if you can tell anything is out of place from looking at it, but if not you'll have to take 'er apart.

Trust me I've already been looking, but as you already know in my current situation that's not going to happen.. Gonna be atleast 3-4 Mo. Prob. Gonna wait atleast until next Spring, or right before.. Hopefully by that time ill be settled in well w/ Sprint and have alteast a few thousand in the bank for a decent downpayment (hoping to have around $8-10k if possible so I can talk them down a bit more). Already drove this baby.. Lookin' for a good low mi. Mach. Either that or an '06 GT. Want a Warranty, so the '06 is prob where im gonna go, they're about the same price as a good low Mi. Mach around here.

That is one thing I haven't decided on yet.. If I trade it, ill prob only get about $1500 on the trade.. Im thinking about keeping it, if I can swing it. If I can make it happen, ill keep the '98 as my DD, and maybe restore it one day.. It's my first car, so if I can im gonna keep it forever.
