turbo question

It wont happen for a while (at least 7 months or so) but i was wondering who had a turbo kit for a v6? Im just now going to put exhaust on my car and then i want a gt rear end and gears, so it will be awhile, but just so i know how much it might cost and what all would be involved in doing, I thought I'd ask. Thanks All.

It can cost as little as 1500$ if you do a lot yourself, and as much as 4000+

tmaturbo.com is the only supplier of make-to-order turbo kits for our cars atm.

i am saving for the same thing...

teal what would be the better route to go...save up alot and just go new with a TMA turbo kit or piece on together...obviously piecing one together with used stuff is easier but i dont know how to weld and stuff

If you cant weld, and you dont know anyone who can for cheap/free then you really have no other choice but to go with a TMA kit. Or to try to find a used one (not manny are arround)

ya...i am looking into the brand new ones...but if a used procharger comes up that is in my price range its mine b4 the turbo

i dunno about around town who could do it...i know a guy who works for procharger and went to wyotech but not sure if he has a welder/knows how to create a turbo kit...i will see i guess...and what type of weld is better for piping...mig?

but dont do exhaust first because you will have to modify it to fit the dump pipe

you answered your own question. Since you dont know how or have the tools either find a kit with complet piping or buy a whole new kit. And while the procharger will make power (300rwhpish) is all you will get with exhuast and 11psi which would be the most i would feel safe with. Where as with the turbo you can run high boost for short periods and crank out alot more power then turn it down for daily fun and driving.

Keep your eyes open and keep saving you will find what you need in no time :)
