question about tuners
 

Hey sup my peps,
I was just wondering about tuners, what brand, what can they do(i pretty much know what the do just want to be sure), and most of all I'd like to know how they work. I have never used one before, and im not sure how to tune my stang. Does makeing my fuel lean or rich help etc. For all I know they tell you all of this in the directions but I havent checked that out yet. Please help me out I dont want to make a stupid choice. Right now Im looking at the sniper tuner from rpm. You cant adjust it without a computer, but i have a laptop with me all the time, and it seems like you can do more with these than with diablo or sct. Yeah never heard anything bad about X-cal2 from Justing but I have a Diablosport Programmer and It works perfectly for me. I changed shift point, shift firmness, torque modulation durring the shift, spedo, fan on/off temps, timing, all kinds of stuff, except the fuel air. The diablo will change the fuel/air ratios but I dont have the proper know-how or measurment devices to do it right. Let's just say my automatic will chrip the tires durring the shifts lol.

I just bought a Diablosport tuner 2 months ago.
All I had to do was plug it into the slot under the driver dash and follow the tuners directions and in 5 min i was Hauling!!!

Oh cool you did the self modifications. Nice!! I dont know that much so i just did the pre programed tune. I didnt want to mess anything up

Yeah it's really easy, plug it back in and modify the tune. I went really mild the first time I did it but then wanted to take it up a notch. Just do some research about the parameters and I'd be careful to move the shift firmness up a lot. I got a trans cooler (hayden 1401 I think) to help combat any heat that might result from hard shifts. But it really helps out if you have different gear ratios to re-calibrate the speedo. Also I don't have the annoying Check engine light from the dual exhaust anymore, been driving around with that for 2 and a half years but after the Diablo...gone lol. One of the best things I've bought for so far. Got it with the dyno tuned package from RPMoutlet with the underdrive pulleys.

how much did that package cost? I just got the tuner for $315

It was $556 after tax, shipping and everything else to the door. Included Tuner, 42% underdrive pulleys crank and waterpump, and goodyear gatorback belt. $315 is good for the tuner though. Wish I coulda found a deal like that.

well its cool u got the underdrive. But yeah i saw that they were 500 and i serched cheep Sport tunners and it came up i guess i was luckey

RPMOutlet will price match on the Diablo.. or at least they did when I bought mine last year.
