Hands down biggest bang for the buck is nitrous if you want power. Spray it! Venom Systems are quite safe and economical.

well i have a 99 v6, and the first thing i did was, i got a dual exhaust system. ( Y pipe into 2 mufflers, then out the rear with stainless steel tips) its the Flowmaster Force II, it totally changed the look and feel of my car. and now most people have no idea if its a 6 or a GT. most think its a GT, but only the true mustang lovers know its a 6, ( because i dont have a GT rear bumper ) but mostly everyone at my highschool thinks its a GT. you can get this exhaust systemoff of many sites, but i got it and found it the cheepest off of jegs.com its about $390.00 after shiping/handling/over size charge.

First check your budget. Usually first mods are rims or something to change the look of the car but if your going motor first instead of all the Bull.. sorry but no nos- supercharger -or turbo.. quick and good horsepower is gained by going with a bigger cam stiffer springs change the heads and this can be done without touching the internals and you will have a better gain than nos which is a one time a night ordeal as opposed to daily
I mean the SC and or turbo is nice..but go with something you dont have to wait to spool.

There is not a head and cam combo on the planet that can gain as much hp as with nitrous not too mention trq unless you are running a small spray.
Head/cam swaps are nice because the hp is always there and you don't need to fill the bottle, but they are also very costly. Figure on a minimum of $2500 for heads/cams on a v-8 with a tune, PLUS you need a chip if you don't already have one. Nitrous, on the other hand, can be done cheaply and you can easily remove it when you go to sell the car. I am not trying to knock heads/cams. In fact, I will probably get mine done over the winter. But, when someone starts a thread by stating that they have a limited budget and are looking for the max hp gains, nitrous is the only thing that fits. It makes the most amount of sense.

Since this is the V6 Tech forum, I would assume he has a V6. Are there even ANY headswaps for sixes? If not, let's not start a flame war over something that's irrelevant.

Mike, you are right on. crap, I did not see this was a V-6 forum. Even if there was a head swap and cams for a V-6, better off selling the car for a V-8 anyway rather than dumping that kind of money into it.
I say spray it! (lol)

You can work on heads of the v6, I talked with a guy that builds motors and his grandpa does them as well, which he is doing to work on my car.
