is the rear girdle required or good to have?

rearend girdle? not really. the 7.5" has other problems besides that

if you plan on running slicks better get a 8.8 with upgraded axles

oh...well that was my 2 cents. probly not as strong in the axles would be my next guess.

The housing itself isnt very strong at all. I wouldnt spend the money on a girdle because if your gonna be putting some good power threw it, its not gonna stop the housing from bending and then breaking axles.

you can go ahead and girdle it, it does help some. the biggest problem with the 7.5" is that it cannot hold anything but 28spline axles, but i have heard people running 300-400hp on them with a real nice locker
