FI = Forced Induction, nitrous, turbo, supercharger..... nitrous is the cheapest, supercharger will set you back $3000-$6,000 and will put you well over 300hp, Twin turbo is about 6000-8000 and will get you a buttload of power. Pretty expencive, however all the boltons, cams, and stuff will set you back about 3-4k i would assume. N/A will probably get you better engine life. Forced induction will shorten the life of the engine to a degree, and you dont wanna go over 400hp on the block unless you get forged internals in which the sky is the limit, but that is also expencive, and the car gets less streetable as the power goes up. just depends on what you want. is that 300hp to the wheels or crank, all i am really looking for is prolly around 250 to the wheels or 300 to the crank.
if 250 is all you want to the wheels then just do all the basic bolt ons, it'll get ya there
like what?
guys this is in the v6 section. hes not going to get 300 hp with boltons.
:loser: For you v6 guys, dont waste your money on anything less than a turbo or supercharger setup. Pretty plain and simple but you wont get anywhere with anything else. |
matt do you ever get up around oshkosh or fondulac anywhere up there, i have a friend that wants to race u if ur up for it.
I got a buddy that lives on corvette st or rd or whatever in osh kosh. i never really go up there.
yea going forced induction is the cheapest way to get decent power, besides Nitrous of course
for a 6er, FI is the only way you're going to see a streetable 250hp. I'd be looking at a turbo setup. Power is great and there's gobs of room for it under the mustang hood with a V6 in place.
Otherwise (teal, please forgive me) if 250 is all you want, V8 swap. |
there are a few guys out there with H/C/I and a 4.2l swap making ~300 crank HP, but its really not worth the money when you can get a blower for like 1500$ used and make the same if not more power for less
