Default Hp!?

I have an 02 v6. Many mods for looks, now I'm looking for power. I currently have a CIA and Flowmaster Force II dual exhaust. I'm going to get a chip soon. I'm looking for advice on what mods are worth it and what mods are not. Thinking about bigger throttle body, spark plugs/wires, or anything other than forced induction. Also wondering how restrictive the cats and stock headers are. Any info/opinions would help.

headers will help, that chip should get you about 20 hp... and gears and T-loc will also help, but other then that and the throttle body/pullies Nitrous is the only other way to get high hp without forced induction or engine work...

yuuup and our cars looove forced induction. But if your bent on not going that route, i sudjest off road h-pipe and cat back exhaust. Make sure to do underdrive pulleys if your not going with belt-driven forced induction. gears and posi is a must.

If you chose forced induction or nitrous, take it easy on the stock internals, and be especially careful with nitrous. I think Teal_Beast plans on running 14 psi through the stock block, but make sure you find out what your internals are rated and and DON'T max them out. If your lucky, a shattered rod only punctures your oil pan. Make sure your not about to grenade the tranny either. I'd talk to Teal_Beast as much as you can, he's probably the most knowledgeable V6 guy I've talked to on here, given me some tips for my girls car. He prob knows factory compression ratio, how much boost you can run with pump gas, power ratings on seperate components and such. By the way, Teal, you work too much. Just my opinion

dont expect go gain anything from spark plugs and wires becuase you wont. The Thorttle body wont be worth hardly anything on a stock motor without some kind of power adder or some internal motor work done so dont waste your money on that. Spend money on something that will actuly make you faster. A tune is a great idea. That along with a set of gears for the rear end will really make it get up and go faster.

Thanks for the advice. I think I'm going to go with a chip, t-loc, and gears. How much boost/hp could I get with a supercharger on a stock engine? I always thought you pretty much had to rebuild the engine to get a good amount of boost safely.

an ATI procharger can be run safley at 11psi in a daily driver ask teal beast we put one his car he loved it. He just has a thing with v6 power so he had to get more power.

A vortec is also good but i think the ati is a better comming with that nice intercooler to give cooler denser air. If you stay around 400rwhp its safe as long as its got a good tune. Hell there are 450stock long block hp cars running around.

Yup, spike is correct.

I ran a procharger @ 11psi with full exhaust and dyno'd at just over 300whp.

On an 8psi vortech kit you can expect anywere from 240whp-260whp

On a 11psi procharger you can expect anywere from 285whp-315whp

Depending on your supporting mods of course. and you definatly do not have to build your engine, your engine will last a long time.

gears +tlok and a tune is definatly a good start.

2 more questions...

Do you guys know a good place where I can find a t-lok?

How much work is putting in a Procharger? Other than installing it what else will I need? New fuel injectors, throttle body...? And about how much money is that gunna cost?

Thanks for the help.

tlok you can get from ford.

installing the procharger is relativly easy depending on if you have to relocate your ABS system or not. but its far easyer then a turbo kit.

as for supporitng mods you need

a chip, 42#injecters, MAF, fuel pump

more specifically

a SCT chip
lightning MAF
and a focus 310 fuel pump.

that can cost as little as 1700$ or as much as 4k depening were you get it, new/used etc
