Default more power

I own a 2002 v6 Mustang. I currently have a catback flowmaster force II exhaust and CAI. I have a lot of things done for looks but now I'm looking for some more power. I made the mistake of getting 18x9 rims which killed my horsepower and milage. I'm going to get the SCT 4-bank chip thats on this site. Can some of you guys give me a few idea's on what would be the smartest and best way to gain some more horsepower after I get the chip?

i say get gears, 4.10's to be exact, it won't give you any horsepower but it will definately wake up your ride...that is what my next performance oriented mod will be. When you say you want power though are looking for giant power makers such as nitrous or a blower/turbocharger, or just bolt on kind of stuff?

I'm thinking about in the future doing some engine work because my friend is going to UTI automotive school in Chicago and my v6 will be something to work on. I'm not looking for anything like a turbo or super charger yet, just wondering if there's any kind of bolt ons and stuff like that.

With 4.10 gears.. how would that effect the driving and shifting of the car exactly?

You add some rpms at every speed. Your shifting (assuming auto) can be whatever you tune it to, stock - hard shifts. I just got my 4:10s and daily driving (under 45 miles per hour) is basically the same as stock except for the shift point adj on my tune.

what? your 18x9's killed your gas mileage? LoL wtf are u talkin about I got 18x9's and 18x10's and mine hasn't changed at all, actually with the exhaust it went up... yea there's a lil power loss but barely...and u make it up in the new traction you gain...

A nice mod would be 4.10 gears and tune, that'll really change the pep in the ride, then maybe a Short Shifter pullies and throttle body...

Some people tell me that 4.10 gears are the way to go and other tell me that 3.75 gears are the way to go for a v6. My stang is a daily driver as well as a car I'd like to take to the track once in awhile. Are 4.10's really the way to go?

Also, I've got a catback exhaust but stock cats and headers. Would it be worth it to change those... and if I keep those and get a bigger throttle body, would that be worth it?

changin the exhaust from stock of course will give you more power but there is rele no need to do that unless u are adding forced induction and the power increse that u will see will be little and a ton of money ull spend maybe 800 on good exhaust parts and 700 for install when u can get half a turbo for that or port ur heads

Default A lot more Power

I was very sad when I got a v6 at first, then I found out you can make them as fast as you desire . Took some time to figure it out, because you can hardly find any information; however, the parts are out there and so is the power.

Right now I am have,

Intake, headers, and Exhaust.

To add next month is Pistons, Heads, Manifold Intake, Cams. 42lb fuel injectors, and Xcal II.

Then when I am not broke I want to add a Super Charger, or a Nitrous. I dont know yet since each one has its pros and cons. I dont think that just adding a super charger to the stock engine is your solution because you will only be able to add a 5-8 psi safely. If you get reinforce the engine with the parts I have added you can run around 19 psi and then smoke GTs and other v8s.

I was shocked when I found out about the Ford Challenge, they had a bunch of mustangs running 10.4s - 11.2s. Most of those mustangs had 525 rwhp which is insane, but its priceless when you see the faces of the GTs and Cobras when they dont see SVT embles or 4.6 emblems on your car while you smoke them.
