Just wondering what was modified to get the extra 3 ponies?

No two engines are really alike. You could have one engine that makes less hp then another. It's not really that uncommon. Then there are freak engines that make alot of ponies.

Yeah I was wondering why the earlier 232s made 190 and the latter 232s made an extra 3 HP

hmm...didnt know they did
i thought that the 99-04's made 190hp and then 94-98's made like 145-150hp and i have the 3.9...doesnt do **** for it...an extra .1L?? wow

They're all 193 hp for the 99-04s... the .1 liter change didn't change the hp...plus when you factor in cold and hot weather that accounts for way more then 5 hp...

The newer v6 motors have an IMRC (intake manifold runner control). This is a butterfly valve in the lower manifold, which cuts off flow to the longer runners of the split port intake at about 3000 rpms. This is why the motor has a higher hp rating.

well only some of the 04s have the 3.9 some still have the 3.8
