9 inch rim

I realize it may look a little narrow but will a 245-45-17 fit on a 17x9 rim just fine without the sidewall looking stretched? I have 275/40 on the rear wheels so i do realize i can go that wide

It will look funny.

Depends on the tire really.... But it will most likely not look very good.

this will work with most tires, but you'll have that west-coast, tuner-car stretched tire look. 275's fit 9" wheels perfectly.

This is what mine look like with Toyo Proxes 4 (245-45-17)
The Toyo Proxes 4 (275-35-17) look so nice on the rims.

Edit: Yes every brand is different.

those pics look to be fine- its only for my front tires anyways, i have 255's on the front right now and they look fine i just diddnt know if i would see a big difference going to a 245, it would be the bfg force sport tire

zigzagg321 03-17-2010 08:53 AM

why downgrade to a smaller tire?

96gtstang 03-17-2010 08:58 AM

i want bfg and pretty much theirs only a couple manufacturers that make a 255

I had 245's on my front for a little bit til I could afford to upgrade to a higher sidewall of 255's.

And you will notice maybe a 1/8 all around the edge of the rim gap with the 245's and with the 255's they are more protected and snug all the way around. So be careful since there wont be much curb protection. I run Sumitomos all the way around at the moment

IMHO the perfect tire for a 9" wheel is 255/40's for fronts or 275/40's for the rear.

Steeda97 03-18-2010 02:23 PM

very original question.

it looks fine. i did it for a little while.

thats x-actly what i have as for as tire size, front @ rear. but i want the "big brakes"
up front. I have 20's. I have the Incubus wheels, THEY SUK ! will not accept big brakes
up front, so i need to totally change wheels, i want 2 keep my 20's. I measured my wheels from inside to outside, they seem to be the same width 9 1/2's all around. I
thought they were a bit staggered like 9 1/2 and 10's NOT. where can i go to look @ some 20" wheels that will x-cept the big frnt brakes. A/muscle dont have any. ?
