Cant find a lug wrench that will fit into the rim recess!

Just bought the Bullitt Deep Dish Rims in Chrome from American Muscle (18x9 & 18x10). Go to install them and all of the sockets I have, even the set specifically labeled "thin walled" wont fit into the recess to tighten the lugs:mad:.

After looking through various socket sets I finally found one that just barely, and I mean JUST BEARLY fits!. Forget using and impact wrench or even a socket wrench. You've got to hold the wheel perfectly centered and try and tighten them by hand. If it moves in the slightest the socket jams.

It took over 20 mins to tighten the lugs without damaging the chrome. I called Am Muscle and they basically told me the they heard of this in the past but thats just the way it is. Since these are hot sellers I figure someone out there must have a solution as there is no way I am spending 20+ min per wheel with an almost certainty that the chrome will be damaged and start pealing.

Never mind if you ever get a flat.........

Any suggestions? Thanks.

Get some different lugs. Thats why I had to do for my Shelby Razors as well.

Then you just use a smaller socket and it fits fine.

I ordered the lugs with the rims. You would think they would send smaller lugs in the first place.

I was finally able to get a socket to fit by getting a 13/16th but for a 3/8th drive instead of 1/2 inch. Also had to buy a 1/2 to 3/8th adaptor to use it with my torque wrench / impact gun. It would be great if when you called support they would know this solution, or even better, send the smaller lugs like you suggest.
