'07 Spinner Install

Ok, can anyone give me some advice on removing my center caps so I can install my spinners? Do they pry off? Do I have to remove the tire and punch out the caps from the inside???

unless u can find a good suction cup, i dont think they come off unless u knock em from behind.. and i seen spinners and i almost went,, flame on. XD but i know what u mean now.

Lol I thought this thread was going to be you asking how to install spinner wheels, but I get it now too hahaha. Yep, pop off those wheels and give em a good knock from behind.

I too thought this thread was going to be about some "Dubs". I am soooooo glad I was wrong. They have to be pushed out from the back.

You need to take the wheels off to remove the center caps properly.

Thanks everyone for the help. :) I was afraid I would have to remove the tires to do it. Not the worst thing in the world, but not the most fun thing to do either! I will post some pics of how it looks when I am done.

Okay.. I still don't understand what the OP is talking about if it's not supposed to be what my first thought was....

I looked up urbandictionary to see if there is another definition.. and all I got was:

1. Tacky chrome rims that spin regardless of whether the vehicle is in motion.

2. Small, petite women may be referred to as 'spinners'. The term likely arises from the possibility that they can be spun around on top of a guy while having sex.

3. Pointless rims that keep spinning after the wheels stop moving. Ussualy owned by wanksters who put them on their cars that cost less thant he spinners.

I had those on my 04. they were a PITA to install, i even had to cut down the tabs on the centercaps so they wouldnt pop out when the spinner was properly tightened.

Oh, so they aren't like spinners I see everyday.. personally I don't think it looks that great but that's just my opinion I guess.. at least they don't freely rotate, that would be horrible

They rotate.. lol..

but they dont freely spin, you can rotate them cloclwise so they are not in the way of the lugs. counterclockwise and they scre right off and you have th epull off the whole damn wheel to put them back on.

they were used to hold thw wheel caps in back in the 50's and 60s if i remember correctly. or maybe even used instead of lugnuts

they are also called Knock Offs

garrett01001 08-06-2009 06:05 PM

They only rotate with the wheel though, they don't keep spinning when the wheels stop.

I don't know I just don't like em, maybe on a certain rim they would look nice like an old school styled rim but I don't see me putting them on..

Well luckily I wasn't asking your opinion, I was asking for help on how to get them on. They are now on my '07 Mustang, I love them, and that is really all that matters!

They look great but are a pain in the ass to install like stated by Jack.
