best tire size for my stock 16's?

alright, i don't know much about tires. i need new ones, or at least some used ones pretty soon. until i save up to upgrade my rims. i have 225/55/r16 on now, but i was wondering if 225/60/r16 would be better or some other size. i have a 96 v6, if that matters.

225/60/16 just means that your sidewall will be higher.

245-50/16 will work very well. they have about the same diameter as the popular 245/45-17 combination and the same as 225-55/16.

check out the Hankook ventus line inthat size. I had 'em on my 96. should be around 90-100 a tire mounted.

zig, thanks. tnell, thanks bro. i checked them out. $315 for a set. not bad. they had good reviews from a few stang owners. i guess i'll have to mount them myself though. do you perhaps have any pics of your 96 with these tires?

no pics...but i can tell you this...
i wanted to upgrade to 17 inch rims and use 245/45-17s but the budget wouldn't allow it so i got the 245/50-16s.

the 245/50s looked a ton better than the 225/55s. they are actually the same physical size as the 245/45-17, the difference is made up of just slightly higher (1/2") sidewall dimension
